Laptop w/15.6 inch screen 1080p SSD ETC.

I am not very versed in quality laptops, I am looking for opinions on who to go with for build quality, warranty and best customer service. This laptop will be for someone that wants a high performance PC in a laptop and does not game much and will need quality support from someone if the need should arise.

Things it must have,
15.6 1080p screen
Blu ray/dvd burner
128gb SSD + storage drive
Quad core + at least 4gb of ram
GAMING is not of much importance, so it doesnt need a high end gpu.

BUDGET up to $1500

I've been looking at the MSI gaming laptops even though he doesn't game and most have a 700 series card in them, they are so decked out everywhere else and they seem less expensive.

Thought's? who should I look into ? Dell, HP, LENEVO, MSI, I do not want any asus products, I never recommend them to other people.

If you want support or service, I would look at business class version of those popular brands. he or she is not a gamer, so why give them a gaming laptop. Get something solid, and then add on site or good support plan and your good.

Anyone ever order or deal with custom builds from PROSTAR?

I would make sure to get at least 8GB of RAM. 4GB is just lame now days. Load up windows and a few applications and browser windows and it will start swapping stuff out.

If doing large documents in Word or Excel, make sure to install the 64-bit version. It will be way faster then the 32-bit version.

Dell has pretty good support. Just don't send a machine into a repair depot. Get an onsite tech.

Lenovo are supposed to be good. Not sure about their actual support though.

Dell Business class laptops are the way to go here.

Dell Precision laptops are the way to go I think . M4800, however you might have to stretch the budget depending on the configuration you want.

If you're not too concerned with graphics card performance, I really enjoy what Clevo has to offer, in the way of notebook builds.

have had nothing bu great luck with Sager/Clevo laptops, they aren't the most flashy, but they are some the highest quality machines built. the DELL precision series inst a bad bet either, the warranty at dell is 2nd to none IMO.
