be quiet! Anyone know about this PSU brand?

I was at a trade event, and the be quiet! folks were there in force.

Honestly I had never heard of them before.

Are these a good option? Are they really quiet?

Always scared to recommend stuff I have no personal experience with or not seen reviewed [H]ere.
 
Just another cheap chinese manufacturer. Their name just happened to translate nicely into english.

For the last few years, pretty much all desktop PSUs are made in China. The only exceptions are a couple companies that make server PSUs and medical PSUs. Some of those are made in Taiwan and there's one company in India.

But, as far as be Quiet goes, they're based in Germany.
 
beQuiet has psu's that range from mediocre to great. It really depends on the model.
 
If you are pathologically obsessed with fan noise, it's probably for you. ;) Otherwise, any other PSU classifed as quiet will do. They're fine, but nothing exceptional.
 
Solid products. AFAIK all their PSUs keep at least average level and high end stuff is really nice.

Quite popular and well known in Poland and probably rest of Europe.
 
Lol on the German comments. The folks at the show could not stop talking about being German, mind you the marketing dude sounded suspiciously Irish.
