Looking to make a small forum for someone and am looking for a place that offers a easy setup forum and hosting, don't need anything else, just a forum. Any good suggestions or is it best to just get a normal host and install your own forum?

What is "cheap(ish)" in your eyes? I use mddhosting.com and am quite happy with it but it starts at $7.50 a month...

Under $30 a month. I want something as simple as can be which is why I did not want to do a normal host and install something. Sure I can set it up for them pretty easy, but I don't want to have to keep a hand in it, I want something that is very easy to maintain by someone who doesn't know much about it. I have never run or installed a forum before, so I don't know how "hard" the current offerings are to maintain etc.

Under $10 a month I would consider super cheap, and cheaper the better, just not over $30 a month.

Do you just want a message board, or do you also want to have other pages/content on your site? If you are just looking for a forum, there are specialized message board hosting services that can give you a great experience that frees you from the tasks of installing and maintaining the forum software and lets you focus on running the discussions. If you're looking to also host other types of content, a more general webhost (with the ability to install web applications easily using a service like Fantastico, Softaculous or Installatron) might be more your style. You can easily get reliable service, and great support for a small/medium community (few thousand members or less) for less than $10/mo regardless of which hosting style you choose.

Whats your maximum cheap hosting price. I know their are free hosts, that take out alot of the forum features out, but you get a basic setup and hosting is free, and its thru their domain. So your forum name.freehosting domain name.net or something?

This is what I am looking for, it is a forum only, nothing else, no website or anything other than a forum to post on. I want it this way as it is not for me and the more simple it is the better, so I don't have them asking me all the time for help with something, where I can set it up for them and they can do everything else on their own.

try bizhat forum hosting. Its free. No frills, and its super easy. However do not expect the works. Its REALLLY BASIC. Its running PHP but an older version I believe. So if cheap=free than this is the only way to go. Another option is Google Groups, but personally its ehh.

Research SiteGround before using them they didn't have a good name for uptime and support on WHT in the past I recall.
