NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Hey, if I get 0666 and you get 0999, I'd gladly swap frames. You'll have to atone for my sins, of course. So.. good luck with that

pretty sure those label plates are just screwed on, not riveted or anything, so you dont have to swap the entire frame.

Even if you removed its serial plate, the 0666 case would still be evil incarnate and constantly plotting ways to kill you in your sleep.

Thankfully, Adamantium is prepaired for such a challenge.. I heard from a reliable source that he designed his custom reservoir to handle holy water for exactly this reason. :p

So with the tracking numbers supposed to start appearing on the ncase website, what are we supposed to see?

I still see the same *update details* page where I can change my shipping label. Is this the same for most of us?

THANK YOU GUYS! Got my case couple hours ago here in Finland! Will open the box and check serial after work. When the post(wo)man tried to deliver the case to my home, my wife was sleeping and didn't open the door for her. Just saw that post offices van drove away.. Well I was driving truck at work and then I saw it, that van. It was driving the opposite way than I, so I had to make a u-turn trough markets parking lot.. Then the van was gone, so I had to guess where she went. I have done this chase before and I guessed right where she went. So I drove next to her and said that she has a box to me. And then I got it, MY NCASE M1! And the postwoman had fun too, she laughed like hell. :D

yesterday my dog yelled when the postman came, but i considerd it as ordenary post and didn't check it.

Until i read at a local forum, that someone had recieced their M1..

Guess who ran to the mailbox..

Whent out abd bougth a 290x , since the 780 disnt fit my sgo
05 any how..

Bam.. One evening of pure joy!

Its not up and running due to my the lack of wc fluid, but working with it is simple as long as you dont mind renoving whats needed; hdd cages psu holder etc..

Now i wonder how x-mas is going to beat yesterday!

I had planned to use a Noctua cooler for my CPU but now that ive got the case infront of me and had another look at the testbuilds that Necere did im leaning towards water cooling.

I dont want too much of that aquarium sound (pump), but to be honest ive never tried water cooling so I have no idea what to expect went it comes to pump noise.

Will get a nVidia GPU with OEM cooler to get the air out of the case so its just the CPU that needs water cooling for now.

Any ideas?
Are there any decent closed loop (off the shelf) systems out there?
Are some brands better than others when it comes to sound?

I can't seem to log in to the ncase web site and there is no option to recover/change my password.

Depends how far you want to overclock. In principle any non-K chip can just run with stock cooler, but for closed loop for example a Corsair H60 can be a vast improvement of temps over stock air. Its pump is so puny that even at full speed you can't hear it. Fan can be at minimum speed.

If you overclock then you will want to consider something more powerful like the Swiftech H220 (also marketed as CoolerMaster Glacer 240L).

I can't seem to log in to the ncase web site and there is no option to recover/change my password.

There were two emails sent with a password. Make sure to use the 2nd password sent with the message "We recently had an unfortunate datacenter incident", and not the 1st password.

How is it possible that xbeater has the same serial as I?

Maybe someone did a sort while you were typing and it got filled in twice.

(Also I'm pretty sure that Netherlands didn't get air shipping, and because it has a slow customs, we will likely not receive cases until next week at the very earliest.)

hey, am I wrong or not? But i thought the silver ones should have black frets too?? Thats why i purchased it because of the great contrast from case to frets and front panel...

Yeah, I thought both black & silver cases were shipping with black case feet too.

Personally, I think the silver feet (frets) look better on both color cases.

EDIT: This is in reference to pointfiveo's case #0849 photo posted above.

I hav to say i hate the combination of feet and panel ... If I would had known it before i had purchased the black one -.- ... nice surprise ...

edit. with black frets it looks like it is levitating. Like in the photos of The_Cheese

Ah I see. Thats because his is a set of silver panels on the black case.

Should't be too hard to change the feet to a set that suit you since they feet I presume are all attached by a single screw as it is in most cases/enclosures. Your local Hifi or electronics store might have something to offer. Personally, it doesn't bother me too much. Was prepared to change the feet to slightly taller ones anyway if it proved to help with airflow and thus silence under load.

It's not possible. It seems someone else has been writing in my slot, since I also found a number of other things that I didn't write myself.

Sorry Nederlanders, I haven't received the case yet, so we still have no idea when it'll get here. :(

yeah but all the photos shows black frets ... we will see and hopefully he changed it and there are black feets^^... lianli black feets costs 8€ (if it is the 45mm version, 35mm only in silver)... it seems like that are things which happen when you are not seeing the case in real life.

So, I have been stalking the thread since the indiegogo campaign ended and I ordered a silver M1, and I pretty much have my build fully planned.

Only problem I currently have, is what to do with the PSU.
I'm getting myself a ST45SF-G, preferably the v2.0 version.
Now, my problem is, in what way do I orient it? Do I make it intake air from the side behind the MB tray? or do I utilize the incidental airflow from the H100i to help cool the PSU? (note, i will be using NF-F12 fans)
My goal with this is, ofc, to make the PSU as silent as possible, without voiding the warranty. I also have a spare NF-S12A, that I'm considering putting that on the side of the H100i that will be ''above'' the PSU, to give it even more airflow

Afaik the M1 uses a 40mm variant not listed on the lian-li page :(

and now we have the problem ... purchasing something in germany you have the chance to send it back but so ... When it is the fact that the feets are not black i am very disappointed -.- ... My moot comes from the mount everest to the Ganges :/

What? First, no, you didn't purchase this IN germany, you purchased this outside. But still, I have no idea why you'd want to return it just for the stupid feet.

We are talking about a $200 case, and you don't like the feet? Then go buy some different and be done with it.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

Whats wrong with you, calm down ... Oo In Germany you can send purchased things back when it is not as you purchased it and i would order a black one instead in the second time.

In This case not because it is not possible and so i have to deal with this fact. But where is the problem to be disappointed when something is not the way you thought all the time.

Sry if there was a misunderstanding. I am from Germany and my english is not perfect ;)

Got home from work. My case is #190 and it's looking good. Noticed some weird thing, this is actually a bit smaller than my present case: http://imgur.com/ssQJhVV
:D The difference looks way bigger in real life than in that picture.

I calm down a little bit and yes it is no problem to change the feets. I only was disappointed and perhaps over-reacting. Thats why my question to Necere, am I right with ordering those ones?

nope. The ones used one the M1 are a 40mm variant (as mentioend by Necere a long time ago)

Those are 45mm, they would stick out. As milkcow said you need 40mm diameter.
lol ninja'd by milkcow

hm ... no 40mm lianli black feets in germany. 35mm but only in silver. I think i have to search another brand

you could plastidip your feet if you wanted them black. If you didn't like the result, you can simply peel the plastidip off, and still have the same finish on the feet. Probably the best option
