Worst Buy will carry them, get this, they have it listed at $799 off contract !! WTF.

And on contract with Sprint for $149.

No idea about Newegg, but my guess would be Amazon will only sell it subsidized with a plan or off contract @ $449.99. T-mobile? Probably $449.99 as well, but maybe even $500, considering their Nexus 4 markup price last year.
I also have a feeling we will not see 32GB models available anywhere other than the Play Store, with the exception of places like Negri Electronics, who is already selling them for more.

Old news... That was only a placeholder price and they're selling it off contract for $449.99 just like Sprint.

I ordered late in the day. (around 7pm 10/31) It was supposed to ship in 2-3 week. Just got my confirmation email that it's already shipped.

Like I suspected the white and black versions of the Nexus 5 do not have the same texture/material which wasn't noticeable in the actual pictures released. The back and sides are different besides just the color. I don't have both on hand so I won't comment on the specifics since it would just be relying third party information.

Although since many (most?) of you probably already ordered so this might not be as helpful information now if it would have swayed your decision.

As for me I have instant buyers remorse (well not exactly) on everything I buy so nothing really new. I've even thought about just sticking with the N4 for another year later in the day that I ordered :p

The Blacks are well worth it imo

My main concern with OLEDs at the moment is the uneven aging. Since we have had OLED consumer devices on phones for quite awhile now I'm wondering if anyone has ever actually gone back and looked into this issue? It'd be interesting to see how the display holds up after 1 year and 2 years of use. This would especially be interesting for a device like the Galaxy S2 as it doesn't use a pentile display.

edit: wrong galaxy version

Ehhh? The Galaxy S3 does have a pentile display. Perhaps you meant the Note 2???

Sorry I meant the Galaxy S2 since it also is old enough.

Although the Note 2 might be a better idea since you can get roughly 1 year test data and then look at it again another year from now.

The other thing to compare would be whether there is a longevity benefit for pentiles by comparing with the S3.

I'm still clinging to my Galaxy S but to be honest, I would have no idea if the display has changed since the original date. If it has, it's been impossible for me to notice such a gradual change.

The over-saturation never really bothered me much since photo fidelity doesn't seem important for a device like this.

Often wondered the same. Pentile is supposed to last longer since it isn't supposed to use as much energy but the same pixels get used more since they are shared. Interesting...

Just got this phone and its nice, but everything feels oversized.

What phone are you coming from?

N4.

The icons are big. Maybe I'll get used to it. The screen is nice, but sort of washed out. The SMS Hangouts app is still a mess and already lagged a few times sending a SMS.

Friends white one came in today. Looks sexy :) my black one comes in tomorrow can't wait

They have to cut corners somewhere to hit that low price point. From what I'm reading the screen is it.

No it just needs to be calibrated . I had the nexus 4 and it was the same thing. Franco introduced a kernel and/or a display settings app to make it look much better. It seems like only official manufacture phones get screen calibration like the lg g2 and the lg optimus G and google does not give it's nexus phones these types of settings .

Really tempted but have 8 months left on my VZW contract and it would cost too much to cancel it.

Is there a chance we'll see 4.4 roms on the S3? There are some pretty big changes under the hood which will likely make it hard for rom developers to port.

I'm getting more and more anxious to get my phone. Had an emergency situation at school today and my phone was going off with people checking on me. It lagged so much! Can't wait to get a nice new, and fast phone! Slated to be delivered Wednesday.

Can anyone compare audio quality between the N5 and the HTC one with headphones?

I will be able to tell you on Wednesday, when I get my N5 in, coming from a HTC ONE phone. Certainly, the front speakers on the One are better than those two speakers at the bottom of the N5 though!

HTC one is still the one to beat but the N5 isn't bad at all it is quite good for a mono speaker. I base this off my newly today delivered N5 vs my wifes HTC One Mini.

Well my N5 comes in tomorrow. Don't really care about the speaker , mostly concerned with music quality through headphones

oh it is indeed good with headphones audio quality is quite good. Thats without even messing with the equalizer.

well that is good to hear, I know beats audio is somewhat of a gimmick, but the HTC One was the best sounding smartphone I have ever had for music listening (The galaxy S II tmo edition close second)

I would say it is under the HTC One the HTC one is the standard on music sound. I would put the N5 ahead of the S4.

How would the Note 3 compare?

Will let you know tomorrow, though I returned my Note 3 a few weeks ago mainly due to KNOX and won't have a side by side comparison.
That said,I have a feeling I'm going to wind up selling the N5 to a friend and buying a Note 3 again during black Friday now that KNOX related things seem to be coming to an end :p

PS - This is coming from someone who was not very impressed with the Note 3 speaker compared to the Note 2. It's clear, but maxed volume is too low imo, at least without having root/applying mods.

I got my Nexus 5 (black, 32g) last night. Still waiting for my SIM from T-Mobile to arrive, for I'm switching away from Verizon wireless. Initial impressions are good. The screen is colorful and sharp. The UI is fast and snappy. I haven't tried out the camera or audio quality yet.

Nice! My package came early this morning right before leaving for work. Black 32GB. I ordered 30 minutes after sales started. Pretty box! :)

On the subject of other phones, I am also kind of sad to admit the N5 wasn't my first choice. I wanted the Moto X. If Google would have priced it at $400-450 unlocked at the Play Store, I'd have picked it over the N5.

I'm hoping the N5 will grow on me. Looks like it's another year with a Nexus phone and the $30 T-Mobile plan.

Enjoy your N5 everyone!

Why would you prefer the Moto X over the Nexus 5? Only advantage I can think of is the smaller size and active notifications? Other than that, the N5 is much better in every other category except maybe battery life, which seems really inconsistant from the reviews so far.

What's the story with the camera? I'm seeing reviews all OVER the place with that. Some say it is disappointing and not comparable to any flagship phone and is behind the times even in comparison to some mid-range phones. Other people are saying it is a huge upgrade and does great in lots of scenarios, even low-light. I'm not sure who to believe anymore.

The real deal-breaker to me is if T-Mobile will have wifi calling on it or if the community can port it over. I use that feature way too much. I know it never got ported to the N4 and there was a big bounty on xda for it but it was never fulfilled.
