NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I'm from Hamilton and just got mine today too.
Serial number: 0182

Slightly annoying is the fact I got sent a black one when I ordered silver. It's not a big problem and I'm not going to waste time and money sending the case back to Taiwan, but the way they're being shipped might mean other people also get the wrong coloured case too or I could have just been unlucky and it could just be a one off mistake.

That brings me to this question (I haven't read all 330 pages so don't know if this question has been asked before). Could there be a possibility of selling the silver panels on their own at some point?

Were the shipping labels applied before going to the post office, or was that left in their hands? I hope we don't get random boxes in random order, or things might get really out of whack with top panels and colors. I hope it was a one-time mix up. Maybe W360 can check the serial number against the list to see if that was the one assigned to you for shipment and report back.

Sweet... fingers crossed mine'll arrive this week then. I ordered a black so i'll tell you what... if it turns up and it's a silver one by mistake, then i'll do you a swap for your black one if you like :D

Anyone with a case on hand, can you tell me the internal depth dimension (from the rear plate w/ the PCIe bracket to the front internal plate -- not the front bezel, but the part that the DVD drive attaches to)? I'm scheming :p

[edit] disregard -- just looked up the info from the radiator discussions :p -- looks like my mad plan may just work [/edit]

I emailed them a while back asking the same thing- and also the possibility of getting a no ODD top (I screwed up in excitement when W360 hooked me up a day or so after they first sold out)- The reply I got was essentially maybe on the no ODD cover, nothing for certain until well after everybody has received their case. They didn't address the silver panel part of my question, so I am guessing the chances are even slimmer to get a set of those.... The_Cheese got the right package for sure in black and silver... kinda cost a lot though;)

Wonder if we could try to work out how many make it to Australia? Would be nice to know from a curiosity point of view, be it through just a show of hands (metaphorically speaking) or if after everything is sorted out, if order statistics could be released at some stage?

M4rk, Necere has sorted me out for dimensions with his diagrams, actually answers more questions I was too shy to ask. Sorry, was well and truly asleep when you asked. At work now, short on sleep and looking forward to the end of the day , thats after pondering about when my case arrives :)

M4rk, great job at the shot emulating the render! Its not easy to match it, but its as good as you get without spending hours more on it. I would guess that if the camera was that little bit closer and lower, you would get the perspective matched up pretty well. Everything else is pretty darn good! Awesome shots.

Is there any GPU water-cooled already coming from factory that fits in this case? I´m really concerned about noise. (Or maybe any silent air cooled)

I´m looking for GTX 770 or R9 280X

Hey bro, whereabouts are you in NZ? I'm in Wellington so hoping mine won't be too far away either

Were you on the early shipping priority list?

I'm from Auckland and no i wasn't on the early shipping list.
I got what i ordered which was, one m1 case black and a black no ODD top cover

I spent about an hour on it and I couldn't figure out the right angle to match up the bottom of the case, so I went with matching the top back corner. I might try again but only if the NCASE guys really want it for marketing materials or something.

It's fine, no worries. You'd probably need a wide angle lens or something to accurately match the FOV in the renders.

Anyone from Aussie land got theirs yet? Or are we expected to get them last? As is usually the case (no pun intended) for anything that needs to make its way to Australia...
Ausbro here, specifically from Adelaide, SA. Still waiting for mine and will be content to get it around January 2014 since I missed out on the IGG production campaign/early shipping. Seems like there's a bit of juggling around with the post office from where the cases are coming from. It would be very nice and pleasant Christmas present if I get it early.

That said though, I haven't received any email shipping notifications so I'm not going to stress out or anything If I don't get it early :)

Hadn't planned on one for the rear 92mm. I wouldn't think there'd be too many people using it as an intake.

I basically want to have filter in all of the open spaces of the case. Where I live is extremely dusty. Do you think it would be possible to have one of these 2 x 120 mm attached to the top panel on the inside of the case?

And for the back, they only make a 80mm square filter or a round 92mm. If they end up doing something for us you might want to ask them to have a 92mm square filter.

As for the bottom, not sure yet. The ones designed for the side will fit on the bottom as well, but it's a bit less than ideal since there are a few places where the frame overlaps one of the many holes on the bottom. I have an alternate design for the bottom, but it's a lot more complex and has some thinner sections, which I'm not sure they'll be able to do:

As you can see they make a wide variety of filters in all shapes and sizes, so I'm sure they be able to customize that amazing design you made.

I don't know exactly how many cases have been sold, but assuming half of us go for these customize filters, that will be around 400 or so orders. They would be fools not to make a custom set for us.

And just to make sure if we have to order the generic ones they sell, you have the non-ferrous type on your case right?

It seems I actually only tried fitting it in the only way that works. I'm sorry if this causes trouble for anyone.

This is the orientation that works:

This can not be mirrored, as the left fitting on this picture will hit the coverplate (possibly removable) on the power board:

And if you flip it 90 degrees it covers the RAM:

Do you have a Noctua NH-C14 to test with the Impact? Wanted to make sure it still is compatible with the board since they now have the sound card.

For all the finns, my M1 has been in the customs since 1st Nov. Does anyone know what is the cases customs code 'tullikoodi'?

EDIT:

Its 8473308000, and falls into category for computer components

Spoke to the Postal Office, shipping order is messed up - they are shipping ASAP / whenever there is space. This is the best way to ensure people get their M1s before 2014.
I told the postal office over and over again to follow my shipping order, I guess that's lost in translation.

Well, I guess this explains the fact that post girl just showed up with the box in her hands! No need to tell how excited I am!!! :D
This happened in Moscow, Russia. No additional duties and/or fees were collected. Delivered by EMS (Express Mail Service). The package was sent out on October 29th.
I didn't have any shipping priorities.

Now I run to the nearest store to pick up the parts I was planing on buying sometime before January 2014! :)

PS
Ncase team I love you! <3

Sat reading about cases that have started to arrive at some places and then realized I had forgot to check my post today. Apparently I have parcel to pick up at the local post office that origins from Taiwan, I wonder what that could be? :D

I was on the priorty shipping list no.2 and just got back from the post office and can happily report that case #708 arrived safely in Sweden.

It looks even better in reality, great work and many thanks to all in the ncases team who made this project come alive. Wish I had bought more than one, its so good looking. :D

dublin. ireland. just got mine no.707.
wasnt on early list. no special fees to pay. just sign for it. havent opened yet. this work day cannot end soon enough.

Those that are getting theirs earlier than expected (ie; not on the early shipping lists) did you get yours from the IGG production campaign or from the NCASE site itself?

Haha yeah to be honest I'm not too fussed.. I don't have the funds to populate the internals properly yet... January somewhat works best for me. Was merely curious... And having it around would just be cool. Something to stare at when I'm bored! Haha. I was on the first Early Shipping List, so who knows...

That's great news! Where in Sweden do you live?

Was a bit surprised getting such a high serial number when I was on the early shipment list but I guess its just totally random.

Got some help with the build from a friendly viking.

I still lack a PSU, GPU CPU cooler and SSD but so far its fitted with a ECS H81 motherboard, 4770 CPU and some Crucial low profile memory (2x4Gb).
Also got a Teac slot-in drive but havent had the time to fit that yet.

Will probably fit a Noctua cooler but will have to take some measurements first, maybe a C12P SE14 or the C14.

Finnish customs is asking who is the sender? Do I write there Wahaha360, Ncase or Lian Li? If I but Wahaha360 there then it's private person, but those else are companies. What does shipping label say as sender?

Edit. It's Lian Li, it was on this paper from customs, didn't see it first...:)

Edit.2 NCASE, as Wahaha says :)

Wahaha360 any word on whether or not the mix up with the color was due to random shipping? Were the serial numbers assigned randomly?

#894 silver reporting in, northern Sweden.
Had to pay 254kr in customs fee.

This case is so small and cute :D

Now to hold myself from buying any parts until next year...

Well this sucks. I already put mine at 206 and got it released. I attached my PayPal receipt and Indiegogo order confirmation on the declaration. For what it's worth, it seems that the system is pretty automated. I got it released instantly after paying so I don't think there's anyone actively looking at them.

How much did you end up paying and what tullikoodi did you use?
