Ubisoft has decided to bring its Uplay Online Pass to an end due to the negative feedback from Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag players.

This applies not just to the pirate-themed open world adventure, but also to “any future Ubisoft games,” according to a new UbiBlog post.

That's a bunch of BS, I just played Rocksmith 2014 and it has the Uplay garbage.

Case in point:

If you buy an ubi$oft game, you buy into their DRM. Complaining about it after you give them your money knowing the DRM is there is pretty pountless I guess.

Meh to the passport thingy...

What's the point of Uplay? It just DESTROYS the experience in Big Screen Mode. I annoyingly understand EA being stupid with Origin (they want to make MOAR MONEE!! because they don't want to pay Valve for their distribution platform, but have absolutely no problem paying to support the consoles and their distribution platform), but UPlay just ruins an otherwise seamless experience.

Same here. Got my copy a few days ago and wasn't happy when not only Steam (which was expected), but also Uplay fired up. So now it takes even longer to get in game than Rocksmith did, which already took too long IMO.

This pisses me off a bit:
What about the on-disc songs from the original Rocksmith? Can I play those?

Yes! If you still own the original Rocksmith, you will be able to import 52 of the original songs into the new Rocksmith 2014 Edition for a one-time music label relicensing fee of $9.99. As part of this process, all these songs will be updated with the new tunings, techniques, tones, and other enhancements new to 2014 Edition. These 52 songs include everything except Eric Clapton "Run Back To Your Side" and Cream "Sunshine of Your Love" from the main disc tracks, plus 3 of the 5 unlockable bonus songs. To do this process, you will be prompted inside the main menu the first time you launch, or you can access it from the SHOP as the "Song Import" pack.

$10...and not all of the songs are included? Thanks so much for penalizing me for buying both RS games Ubi

I don't get why game publishers feel they should get a piece of used game sales. No other consumer product manufacturer that i can think of gets money from used product sales. Used car sales? Not unless GM or Ford directly owns the dealership it gets sold at. Used clothes? Think of all the thrift stores out there!

Just think of all the crap we buy used. Name ONE manufacturer that makes money on used product sales of their own product they produced.

Uh, what? Is that game even released yet for consoles? Much less PC's, I read 2014...
