Big Price Cuts for GeForce GTX 780 & 770 Tomorrow, GTX 780 Ti Coming 11-7

do Black Friday sales ever include high end/enthusiast parts?...always seems to be low end stuff that goes on sale (not just with video cards but TV's etc)

Back in the day, yes, they did. Last couple of years though, particularly last year, the holiday sales have changed from only one big day to the whole week before, during, and after BF. I read a article in the paper that this year's holiday sales will once again be a long running one instead of one big BF sale. When it comes to the high end cards I don't expect any big priced sales. The only thing that might change that thinking is if the current amd/nvidia price shuffling continues into the holidays. Can this mini price war last that long? We can only hope. :D

No doubt. I'm not seeing any changes at Amazon for the good stuff (780s are still in the $600s) and Newegg is running price premiums even against markdowns.

what happened to Newegg's free shipping!!...they used to have free shipping on nearly everything but now almost every item has a shipping charge

Time to get in on ShopRunner. I haven't paid for it since I signed up for the trial and they keep extending my subscription due to promos.

But yeah, you're right, their free shipping for most things seems to be a thing of the past.

Yeah Shoprunner has stayed free through promos with Amex for me...
Still want to see a 760TI part come out of this.

Kid

never heard about ShopRunner until your post...thanks for the info

The extra awesome thing about shoprunner (at least last time I used it) it covered return shipping should the item be doa.

does it automatically stay free for you guys after the trial or do you have to activate the promos to keep it free?

Is there any reason to get this over an EVGA other than the white PCB, though? I've always thought of Galaxy as a cheap vendor, but maybe I'm wrong.

This card competes with the EVGA classified and MSI lightning. Its a completely redesigned PCB if I'm not mistaken with much more robust components. You can read hards own review in the sticky. Also galaxy has a very helpful rep on the forums if you have any questions :)

so taking price out of the equation, which 780 card is considered the best- EVGA classified, MSI Lightning or this Galaxy card with redesigned PCB?

They all have redesigned PCBs, basically the cream of the 780 crop.you'd be happy with either I'd imagine but hardocp said the lightning clocked a bit higher than the galaxy. Also the galaxy is a 2.5 slot card while the other two are 2 slot cards .I personally have a galaxy hof myself as I love the white PCB and their customer service is up there with the best

Who cares? Amazon keeps [H]ard|Forum FREE!

Well, personally I am not interested in waiting that long, if so I would just simply wait and see what happens to prices over the next 1-2 months rather than buy something now which I wont get until later.

But, yes I always by Amazon, especially since in this case I'd be putting it on my Amazon card for the 6 months no interest. Makes my wife happier if I tell her its just a few 70-80 dollar payments :)

I brought the lag time noted to the Galaxy reps.

That card would probably look nice in this case

The matte black is nice but full tower is a bit big and gaudy for my tastes -- unless you're doing a custom loop, etc.

I like my compact, noise-insulated Define R3 :). Makes my old P180 look gigantic, though it's almost as heavy.

The 780 just got a $200 price drop, you think it would get another one in 2 months?

it was a $150 price cut and yes it was already hinted at that another price cut could later after the bundle ends. but it would be stupid to wait for another price cut as the games will probably have more value.

is the bundle ending or are they just going to start up a new bundle?...isn't that what AMD does with their Never Settle bundles

I think we can expect Nvidia to keep prices in line with their revenue goals. If they're not moving product, prices have to come down.

Nvidia is pretty hard assed when it comes to pricing their cards. That's why they overprice when there's lack of competition.

You never know when a better deal will pop up, companies are always offering MIR's as well. My point is just that I prefer not to purchase something with a 1-2 month wait for shipping.

I doubt they will offer a $140 MIR :p I can wait 1-2 months for a 30% discount.

They are very, very similar, and I would have considered the H2 versus the Define R4 had I waited a little bit- but I made my R3 work with a little planning :).

I should really shine it up and take a few shots, now that I've gotten it up and running again!

Defintely, shine that bitch up and post it. Cable management will be scrutinezed! :D
