Big Price Cuts for GeForce GTX 780 & 770 Tomorrow, GTX 780 Ti Coming 11-7

The gtx 780 lightning is on par with uber mode 290x but without the cons associated with uber mode. Probably a bit above it if we look at hardocp benchmarking. You probably saved yourself decent money going for a lightning gtx 780. Not immediate savings, but you don't need to buy another air cooler or water blocks, and your saving 100+w in electricity, even more if you overclock.

I really wish the Lightening had a waterblock. The only high end 780 that does is the Classy but I really don't feel like paying more than the HOF or Lightening just because it happens to be an EVGA card.

Do you want a warranty or not? EVGA's hard to beat there.

LOL. Wow. That's pretty awesome. This definitely makes the 290X a harder sell when OC 780s are slightly less in price. And the best part - the 780 lightning actually has a semi decent price now. (was a big fan of the 580/680 lightnings) I almost want to pick two of them up. Someone talk me out of it. ;) I think this is going to happen although I technically don't NEED them.

That MSI Lightning 780 is pretty nice. Dammit, the non-reference r9 290x cards need to come out before I impulse buy.

That is a damn good point. This price cut has made my choice both more awesome and harder. I'm starting to nitpick stuff, like how the Classy block from EK isn't full coverage and of course EVGA and Swiftech want way too much for their block that looks worse than the EK one.

I'm patiently waiting for the non-reference r9 290x cards to start showing up before I make my decision between red and green. Thank god the prices lowered, shit was getting ridiculous.

This! I think I'll be holding off until we see the 3rd party 290x cards... this is all good news though, those Lightning 780's are so tempting.... I think I'll wait for Lightning 290x's though... hopefully by Xmas?

I till can't believe that N didn't do its usual and post about their new may cards.
Maybe they don't know either.

I am guessing that if N comes out with their new card on Nov 7th then AMD will allow cards with better design, reference sucks.

GeForce GTX 780 Ti will hit the shelves on November 7th with a suggested retail price of $699
are they Fing kidding

Seems like the EVGA cards are generally getting 60-66% of the price cut while most other cards are getting the full price cuts... At least on their non-stock speed cards. Even on the 770s.

I might just get an MSI GTX 780 if those aren't just temporary pricing hiccups.

WOW Newegg has the MSI 780 lighting for $550 and the EVGA Classified 780 for $579.....Those 2 cards are faster then Titan out of the box, and overclock like a mofo....

Decisions Decisions

Check prices again. Newegg is being a bunch of fuckheads. The classified is over 600 again for no reason. It went from 579 yesterday to 699.

WTF Newegg. The classified ACX is the same price as the Classified Hydro Copper. Someone at Newegg is off their meds.

Newegg's automatic price gouging algorithim at work. When it sees a bunch of purchases in a short amount of time, it jacks up the price.

Nice, the 780 is now very attractive for my future 1440p build. Thanks AMD, competition is always good! I only buy Nivida products since my 5850 fiasco and adventures! lOL :) (my own reason, not a fanboy, only had a bad experience)..

everyone does, you should buy what is best for your money.

What happens when you have an NVIDIA bad experience... start buying integrated only systems :)

Ok so here is where I'm at at this point. Seeing as 90% of my gaming is on a game that still doesn't have dx11 support, nor multi gpu support. I play at 7880x1440, I think I'm just going to buy a damn 780 classified and wait out next years cards. Would I be better off waiting for the Classy to drop back down to 579 and buying an EK block, or just spend the 699 on the Hydro Copper Classy. I'm leaning towards buying the ACX Classy just because it should be easier to sell in the future since no one ever seems to want to buy used waterblocks/cards.

Well, bought 2 GTX770 after the discount. With my amazon points and citibank points I only ended up spending $430. Figure I'll sell both of my cards for $200 and that's not a bad deal at all!

Haven't had any 'bad' experience so far. The only one was the Arkham City (everyone had problems and still have) and the last Need For Speed (same thing),

Prices are all over the place right now. Wonder when Amazon will catch up and adjust their prices. I only see a couple cards on amazon that have seen price cuts.

U-Play nVidia seriously...all I have to say is U-Fail....upgrading my media PC to R9-280x(waiting on new bundles), screw your overpriced GTX770 with obtuse to redeem U-Play horse-crap.

Feeling about the same right now. 770 4gb is way overpriced @ +$80 compared to 280x

The 770's are down to the 330$ advertised price on Amazon.

Well AMD likely won't be bundling Ubisoft games for now but the ones it did bundle, Farcry 3 for example, were also U-Play. The EA games bundled will be Origin.

Interesting to see the pre-aggressive move from Nvidia before Amd's 290. This can only get better just in time for the holiday season. I'm saving my pennies for the crazy black friday deals as I expect inventory for other cards to be crazy to clear shelve space for the new big boys in town.

7970 around $200? yes please

Worth the premium for me. Just to get away from AMD drivers alone I'd pay the extra money. Personal preference, but I've been on crossfire too long with too many problems.

While I agree that crossfire with any card that's not a 7xxx series or higher is broken(microstutter, microstutter everywhere), I found that the latest drivers are rock-solid and as reliable as nVidias (with my 7930 and 7850). Performance/Dollar is more important, and this is coming from a guy with overclocked GTX670's in SLI in my main rig. If I had to get a new card though, I'd stay far away from nVidia's price gouging and obtuse free-game scheme. Offer a 770 4-GB at $299 and you have my interest, offer the 780 at $399 or less and you got me back. Right now AMD is all over nVidia, and I find both of their drivers to be fine....though I will say, I love the little features in Geforce Experience.

What's wrong with U-Play? I have never had an issue with U-Play,Origin, Steam. The only thing that ever gave me headaches was GFWL-- I have no patience.

do Black Friday sales ever include high end/enthusiast parts?...always seems to be low end stuff that goes on sale (not just with video cards but TV's etc)
