They aren't available yet.

A 680 can run any 1080p monitor regardless of refresh rate. If you are asking "will the 680 output 144 frames per second to match up with the monitors refresh rate all of the time", then no. But that likely won't make much of a difference unless you are extremely perceptive to input lag, or are a competitive FPS gamer.

I have a Samsung 120hz monitor. With one GTX680 I was not maintaining 120fps in many games. I added a 2nd and I can now maintain 120fps in most situations.

Adaptive V-Sync is great in these cases also.

I am using a 144hz monitor and a GTX 680. At that resolution i can stay hit 144 fps in most games and I use the Adaptive V-sync setting. I did not stay near 144 in BF4. lol

Thanks I am thinking about getting a ASUS 24" 144Hz monitor but wanted to make sure my GTX680 could handle it. I just use my computer for gaming. :D

I had 2x 680gtx, and in some games like bf3, it would go higher than 120fps at some point, but it also goes below 100fps on some maps. So you really need 3 cards to always get above120fps.

Will one GTX680 run higher than 60Hz 0n a 144Hz monitor? If a second card is needed then I may have to forgo a 144Hz monitor.

I should say can I set the refresh rate higher than the 60Hz that my current monitor is limited to and get smooth game play.

You can set the refresh rate to the maximum refresh rate the monitor supports as long as the connection method has the bandwidth.
Whether you can game smoothly is dependent on many more factors, not least will be your own perception.

It depends on your other hardware, the games you play, the settings you use and your expectations which will be partly based around what you perceive.

If you want a guaranteed stutter free experience wait for the new GSync monitor(s) to come out.
