I have been running into this problem a lot recently.

I just reformatted completely and got it running windows 8.1

Sometimes, when I start up the computer, the monitor reads "now entering digital power saving mode" right after startup.

These are the things I can do and see:
-I can see the windows 8 logo loading
-I can enter BIOS
-I can enter desktop via Safemode
-Startup runs through perfectly fine.

When this does happen, I can't enter the desktop. Everything seems fine until after startup.

Also, when I am in, at random times, my computer would enter the same "now entering digital power saving mode" and restart itself.

Since I have been in college for the past 5 years, I have not kept up to date with computer diagnosis.

I have come to [H], to provide insight.

THanks!

I seemed to have solved the issue. Thanks Cisco for your help anyways! I realized that it was my heatsink that was not properly installed. My CPU temp was idling at 50c . Now it idles at 29c.
thanks once again!
