In case anyone didn't know wind waker HD Is now available in the Eshop. Early release for digital went live at midnight.

I will be getting it later today with the WW edition WiiU. Can not wait to replay Wind Waker.

I started playing it looks awesome they did a great job. You can play off screen or with the gamepad or use the pro controller.

I watched reviews and I cannot wait to buy it. It will be the first worthy purchase on the wii u for me. Gonna play gta and ffxiv for now and get wind waker later though

What's the price? I suppose I could fire up my Wii U and find out.

I bought it this morning. I will probably have the opportunity to download the game when I get home from work. I'll play it when my wife wants to play GTA 5.

So the Wii U Wind Waker bundle, is it disc based version or a digital download? I'm reading it's a download.

Yes its a download. The physical copy doesn't get released til Oct 4. I dont know if they'll be a bundle with a physical after that date.

almost my only reason for buying the game... I mean i'll get it anyway... i think...

it looks sooooo gewd. i was totally a hater on the cell shading of wind waker but man its really helped it look seemingly ageless.

It does!
I was watching a few streams on twitch this morning and it looks magnificent. It looked awesome on GC, in HD the cell shading looks so clean. I'll prolly get it on the disc release, I'm still looking for the Ganon.... but not even Nintendo has it listed anymore on the zelda site. :(

not worth 50 bucks as much as i want this game for my never played Wii-U.

it was worth 50 bucks back in the day easy, and i never even got passed the first part.

i think its worth it

I have a few Digital Download codes of Windwaker i'm parting with for $35.00 if anyone wants one.

I just installed mine, about to fire it up (realized I just started Wonderful 101 and I'd yet to finish Pikmin 3). Kinda crazy the Wii U pretty much just sat there un-used and now all of a sudden all the games!!!!!!!!!

I have it. I'm a pretty die hard Zelda fan. Not that impressed really. The resolution is HD but this is not anything revolutionary or even evolutionary. It seems overpriced for what it offers. It does not revitalize the experience the way Ocarina 3D did. There is something plastic about the graphics it does not feel as cartoony. This was never my favorite Zelda though. Something is lost im translation with respect to the graphics. They are now up to HD spec but the game still looks 10 years old, essentially.

I find this game to be a lot of tedium and frustration compared to Ocarina which was pure joy. You have to ask yourself if you really want to play Windwaker again or not. If yes then buy it. If not, save your money.

Wow you are like the ONLY person that bought Wind Waker HD and wasn't impressed with it.

Yesterday was my birthday and I received a Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle and I gotta say.. I love the remake. They did lots of large but tasteful changes and I never felt that they messed with the overall formula except when it required it (sailing being to slow for instance).

I have to say that I really dig the Wii U interface , but man the app changing needs a good speed up , switching between apps takes to long. The only Wii U I felt was a total failure was Youtube , its fucking awful. Its slow as shit and the video stutters which is entirely unacceptable considering how long the console has been out now. Hopefully the incoming big system update will fix that but honestly if I was Nintendo I would jump all over Youtube until they fixed it. I like the Mii universe , that's pretty cool and all the community features are actually interesting and useful.

But yea If you even remotely loved Wind Waker back in 2003 then you will more than likely love it on the Wii U now.

The YouTube app sucks but YouTube using the browser works perfect. and it plays on the TV and the gamepad.
There is a fall update coming with more speed improvements.

Wii U is $300? WTF?
Uh, it's been 349.99 since launch for the Deluxe edition. They just axed the basic edition and cut the price on the Deluxe to 299.99. Have you been asleep this whole past year? :D

I can hear the massive sucking noise already lol $50? that's what the original game cost when new I believe...besides the NGC version still looks great on my TV

Trust me when is say this , the NGC version looks like a pile of dog shit compared to the Wii U version. There are some Wii U enhancements as well. However since the Holiday season is fast upon us I can understand the price point being a tad high , but honestly the work they put into it really shows that its more than just "upscaling" the graphics.

youtube app is way better than the 360 or ps3 version just from being able to search using a keyboard pov... (yes I know you can use a keyboard with the 360 app that snaps on to the controller)

Did you miss that he didn't like the original release either?

There are going to be very few opinions like this because people who didn't like the original are very unlikely to spend money twice on a game they don't like.

Even if you didn't like the original the little touch ups and changes made to this HD release make for an even more enjoyable game. I would still recommend it , perhaps waiting for a price drop would be the correct course.

Nintendo game do a price drop? Go google the price for Mario Kart on the N64 and tell me if Nintendo does price drops :D

Been playing it, and it definitely feels a lot smoother. The controls are improved, although I would have made a few small recommendations (for items you're aiming with, you shouldn't have to hold down the button. That might prevent you from using the right stick to aim), but I love the game as much as I did when it first came out. Nothing is quite as calming as sailing on that boat.

My wife never played the game before. She called King of the Red Lions "Nightboat, the crime solving boat."

The cel shading made the game.

WW is my favorite Zelda since LttP.
Yes I like OoT....but it's not > LttP or WW (IMHO).

WWHD looks great, but then again so does WW running in Dolphin @ 1080P. :)

I like the control improvements too, and the Miiverse integration. Lol, someone started a Twitter feed of Link taking selfies in WWHD, one of which a picture of himself next to a giant pig on Outset island with the comment "Just hangin' out with Ganon's Mom." I thought it was funny, anyways.

WW was my favorite after LTTP as well, I haven't played skyward Sword or some of the game-boy ones though...

I don't think I'd want to play WW again, but a sequel to it might be great.

Skyward Sword was alright, but the overworld was replaced by flying through a boring sky level, and the "on the surface" levels were pretty linear. It was still a great game, but it fell short in some ways.

I'd recommend Wind Waker on the Wii U. I didn't think I'd love playing it nearly as much as I do. I'm actively choosing to play it over GTA 5.

Skyward Sword was an awesome game if you can look past the motion controls. It might be up their in the top few for me if you didn't have to pretend you were flying a wiimote around your living room.

I enjoyed WW, but I don't remember it well. I mix it up with the DS line that uses the similar graphics engine. I'm looking forward to replaying it. I started it a while back and stopped when they announced the HD remake.
