AT&T and Microsoft Corp. today announced they will deliver a security-enhanced and reliable cloud solution that will allow enterprise customers to connect to Microsoft’s cloud platform using a private network. The new solution will use breakthrough cloud integration technology from AT&T to pair virtual private networking with Microsoft’s industry-leading Windows Azure cloud platform. Customers of the solution are expected to benefit from the enterprise-grade security of virtual private networking, with as much as 50 percent lower latency than the public Internet, and access to cloud resources from any site using almost any wired or wireless device.

the NSA will also have a nice private connection I'm sure

Anything AT&T is involved in is total crapola. Then we have the maker of Win8 joining them in the fiasco. Oh Mama.

Oh great, a thread with Microsoft in the title is now going to turn into a Windows 8 hate fest thread. :D Let it go, although, I am with T Mobile and have not used AT&T at all. (Used to be on Cingular before ATT bought them though.)

So AT&T is now offering Connections from enterprises directly to Azure Data Centers. Okay, sounds fair enough, that will definitely decrease latency. I just have to wonder, how long until another provider pays enough to get that access as well.

AT&T already has a history of cooperating with the criminals of the NSA. I see no reason why I should trust them now.

Only a fool would use a cloud service for anything they want to remain secure.

I'm really surprised, a Microsoft thread and the first post is about the NSA and it took a whopping 5 posts to bring up Win8.
