Broadband 'Can Boost Household Income'

OMG! OMG!

So, what is considered broadband? 56K?

So, I'm supposed to pay an extra £199.99 to make an extra £0.01? Oh wait, I get charged tax for the internet connection and get charged tax on that extra income. So, I'm actually losing money.

The study is false. People can afford a higher speed because they're making more money. It's not the speed that helps them make more money. Just because Monster or some other job site loads an extra second faster doesn't mean that I'm able to find a better job quicker. Heck, learn skills at home cause of my connection speed? I have a 50Mb connection from Time Warner and youtube videos take ages to load. I'm trying to watch some UG NX tutorials. False study is false.

In the USA broadband currently is define as at least 4Mbps down, 1Mbps up. In another year or two that is supposed to change to 6Mbps down and 2Mbps up. Not sure where you are located as you are using £ but refering to Time Warner which I didn't know was outside of the USA for service.

just noticed the article was using £ values. do agree those that this article is flawed in the direction they are looking. going from no internet to 4Mbps it isn't that the internet connection allowed them to make more making more allowed them to pay for internet service. same for going from 4Mbps to 25+, again making more allowed for the better service.

Buying more food doesn't cause me to make more, making more allowed me to buy more food.

Just like buying a better car doesn't allow me to make more.

Well, they are saying, you can learn more due to online classes.... but I doubt that actually matters for most people.

I beg to differ. The study shows something that i experienced personally in the last 15 years: as i increased my internet time, not only have me and my wife increased our incomes, but we also have saved money buying online and making better investment decisions. I do confess that about 95% of our bandwith is consumed in porn and youtube, but in those years the internet education allowed her to complete a master degree and allowed me to play online poker, whose ttoal gains so far have more than covered our internet bill:D
