I have an old i7-920 setup and need to replace my 8800GTS. rig in sig.

I've been looking at various benchmarks, but I am not convinced that they are targeting my demographic. I prefer to running lower resolutions with eye candy off. I want to max my FPS without sacrificing in-game abilities to see opponents or impact my aim etc. I hope that makes sense.

I mainly play COD BO2 currently, so ghosts next. I guess I need to understand what video card feature makes most sense to me..... memory clock vs GPU clock vs bandwidth since I prefer low settings....

I am seeing several deals on my local CL.

Cards i've seen locally.....
I've seen HD7770 for $60, but I bet could get for $40.
gigabyte 650 ti boost listed at $100
Galaxy GTX 460 w/ 768mb memory - $50
BFG Geforce GTX 285 1GB Overclocked Graphics Card - $90
OEM 1.5GB Nvidia Gtx 660 - $100 , worried about drivers and overheating Ive googled the heck out of this one......
EVGA GTX 260 core 216 896MB $50 AND PNY GTX 260 core 192 896MB $40 Or both for $80 and I'll include an SLI bridge as well.
EVGA 896-P3-1170-AR GeForce GTX 275 896MB 448-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 - $60
ATI HIS Radeon HD7850 video card w/ 2GB memory, brand new in box - $130
HIS Radeon 7850 2GB Graphics Card - $120

You probably will want to get more specific on what resolutions you plan on running. If you are below 1080p, I doubt you need any video card higher than 1 GB of memory. If I had to guess based on the limited info you have provided, getting the HD7770 might be your best bet.

I would say in that price range most likely a 7770 or 7790 would be your best bet. The GTX 650 TI and GTX 660 would be a nicer pickup but right now they are out of your range.

I appreciate the responses.

I can get this one for under $80 actually.
OEM 1.5GB Nvidia Gtx 660 - $100 , worried about drivers and overheating Ive googled the heck out of this one......

Can anyone find updated information that newer drivers work on this thing?
All the things I am finding are negative and older........
This is a pull from an Area 51 machine.......

seeing threads:
GTX 660 OEM Drivers x51 - Alienware Arena Forums
GTX 660 OEM TESTING RESULTS (X51) - Alienware Forum
driver gtx 660 oem alienware x51 - Alienware Forum - Alienware

Basically I gather you have to use an old "modded driver" .....

It is using a different GPU than the normal GTX 660....... http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-660-geforce-gtx-650-benchmark,3297-16.html

If you go that route the 314.22 drivers are SOLID as a rock. I've been using them since I got my 2 x 660's around last April and have had nothing but solid stability. Everything before and after those are the iffy ones you'll see people having problems with. But then again everyones machines are different specs so nothing is guaranteed.

I agree with purchasing the Nvidia 660....

For $80 that's a sweet deal.

Do you have the weird Dell / A51 OEM version card that uses the GK104 GPU ?

OK I picked up the weird/odd OEM 1.5GB GTX660 that uses the GK104 GPU for a steal. (under $80)

I hope I can find drivers etc. Did anyone find any current info on this card????

Perhaps I will post in the nvidia specific forum.....

What do you mean 'Find Drivers'.... Go to Nvidia.com and download the latest Forceware, install, and enjoy.

660 fir 80 is awesome. But if no one has resolved the problems being solved if you can get the 7770 for 60 its still a good deal and your best bet out of the ones you listed for the price.
