Hi,

This isn't really a hot deal but a cold deal. Got a NeweggBusiness save $50 over $500 promo code (also got a save25 code for Newegg) and their system refused it because the video card came with Batman Origins free game!

Unbelievable!

just remove the free game from your cart (assuming the games not a big deal to you) and that should make it work.

the egg is known for pulling this crap. they always bundle popular or low margin items with crappy items so you can't add a coupon.

the egg is sneaky but they have no real competition. Amazon is a cluster fuck and Tiger Direct has the worst CSR in the history of the mankind.
buy.com ordering system is compromised and their points that expire after 2 weeks are a trap.

The game is the Batman Origins game that Nvidia is promoting with a new video card. You can't remove it. I emailed their support that thats a deal breaker!

I never understand this, whats wrong with amazon?

For some people its great. But amazon has given me pretty crappy service. I have prime and half the time when I order something they ship it ground even though it was supposed to be 2 day shipping or I even paid for 1 day shipping. The other half the time I get someones return that still has their rma label on it. This all from amazon and not a reseller. Maybe my account has the crap account flag but when I order from amazon I expect it to go wrong.

I don't understand that at all. I've ordered at least 200 or 300 orders from Amazon since 2009, all flawless except maybe 1 or 2 that Amazon fixed immediately at their cost. Frequently shipping with prime is 1 day for free instead of 2, and rarely ever does it take longer than 2 days.

That's a stupid either-or requirement they're doing. You should be able to get the discount and the game. The game doesn't cost NewEgg anything.

Its kind of like how people rag on newegg, I have never had a problem with newegg and their service has always been top notch for me.

Most people don't rag on Newegg for their CS or shipping, but for the horrible fake deals they started running where they jack up the price before "dropping" the price the day of the sale (camelegg saves you from falling for this, but it hasn't stopped them from still doing it), their dumb consumer mall, their 3rd party vendors that they don't hold accountable, their poor diversification in an utterly failed attempt to compete with Amazon when they were never an Amazon competitor in the first place, etc... but I however do rag on them for their horrible CS and mistakes, check out my last Newegg purchase, quoted from the Newegg thread:

Last month I ordered from Newegg for the first time in almost a year (had gift cards, only reason I ordered anything at all), and they shipped me not only the wrong item (I ordered an air purifier, they shipped me a rackmount server chassis), but it was much more expensive than what I purchased.

When I complained, they tried to make me pay return shipping (lol?), and then refunded me using the wrong funding sources despite assuring me 3 separate times they would not do this. It eventually got sorted out (the refund I mean, they never did send me the original item, and in fact told me NOT to order it again as they told me I would be shipped the wrong item again)

Been shopping with them since 2002 and have had Prime for about four years and none of that has ever happened to me and I spend at least a couple thousand a year with them. I use that Hoverhound Firefox addon and bounce back and forth between the two companies. They're generally pretty competitive with each other, but all things being equal I go with Amazon for the two day Prime shipping (which often turns to one day without paying extra if its shipped from their Reno warehouse).

So to update this thread Newegg said they would honor that code. The question is now do I really want to spend 600 on a gtx 780...

I didn't bite on that but instead got a gtx 770 acx for my work pc that was on sale for 380 AR. Includes Barman origins and backplate with registration. I'll wait for the 780 for a bit. Way too pricey.
