Looks like a definitive buy for me, too bad I can't preorder it right now on steam but if you want to pay more to the devs you can go to their official website and Donate more but eh I'll probably just pay the 11.99$ as I'm not that generous.

Yeah I did some looking into it and they specifically mention Ghost and Goblins and Rastan as inspiration on their kickstarter page. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1829034266/volgarr-the-viking

I like the older games but their game-play is clunky compared to more modern games so I'm looking forward to Volgarr the Viking. Shield play, spear throwing, double jumping and rolling sound good to me. 40 levels seems like a decent amount, not to long, not to short. If they get the difficulty right this looks to be a real gem.

You mean Legendary Axe on the Turbo Graphics 16. Golden Axe was a Sega arcade and console beat-em-up with two plane movement.
 
Looks good, not $12 good, but def. $5 good, especially on just a $40k budget. The fake cartridge they did for backers is a nice touch too.

I'd rather play Golden Axe, Ghosts and Goblins / Ghouls n Ghosts on MAME, for free.

The trailer looked like some He-Man crap from the 80's.
 
Wow, I just felt like a ten year old again.This seems pretty awesome. Has anyone actually bought it and played it yet? I have to agree that I don't think it is worthy of $12, and will probably wait the couple of months it takes to get down to $5.
 
It's only 10$ today, I just bought it so I'll post my impressions after I've given it a shot. (It's only 154MB btw)
 
I've played it a bit and it is hard, very, very hard. I'm going to have to practice some more because I haven't even got past the first level yet.
 
Looks rad, reminds me of Rastan. I will buy this on a Steam sale one day.
 
Hi guys,
So I decided to start making some videos on this game cause I found no proper tutorial nor walkthrough on the youtubes, so I decided to make my own with the currently limited knowledge I have about the game. Currently I am at world 3, still waiting for feedback on my first video to see how I should edit the second video or what I could improve.

Looks like a game I will die too much and get a game over if I don't play with others.
 
Definitely a Rastan clone,not that that's a bad thing,loved the game in the arcades. Maybe they can do something similar to Rolling Thunder next.
