Asking is better than being sorry is my motto.
How do the current Nvidia Drivers perform ? any uglyness like the famous 2 second pink artifact kernel crashes ?? im bout to buy in the next 24 hours so if theres any shiz to it , please lemme know.

I think the nvidia and AMD stuff are very closely matched in hardware and software and prices and sales and partner coolers and accessories. I think the nvidia stuff is SLIGHTLY better in some ways and thus commands a slightly higher price-per-unit-of-performance. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
 
To my knowledge, the 700-series cards don't contain any "shiz". They do, however, contain trace amounts of "wabba".
 
Nothing besides driver issues and this goes with both AMD and Nvidia at the moment. Nvidia has had a real tough time this year getting stable drivers, really since the 600 Series. I'm still paranoid to move up from the 314.22 drivers. Seem to be the last real solid-ground-no-general-problem drivers Nvidia released.

But they'll get better as they always do. Either way you go you're going to have to ride that mess out.
 
welp... I just went from a 260 to a 560 to a 760 and Im not even looking back. Drivers have been no issue for me. Games/movies/ look so much better. Going from a 1gig card to a 2gig card was a good thing to do for me.

choosing from the seven hundred series.. how much money you have to spend? thats what determined my purchase.

I'm looking to buy a 760. Are there any that are known to be quiet runners?
 
Keep in mind, though, that 670s are generally better than 760s.
With those premium models (and the price of 670s falling)... it might be a better (and cheaper) choice to buy a non-premium 670 instead of a premium 760.

That is what annoys me about video card makers. Just because the model number is higher doesn't mean it's a better card.

In this case, why would a 670 be better than a 760?

The MSI 760 is $259. The cheapest 670 on Newegg is $305.
 
Do not under any circumstances even touch a reference 670. Even at max fan capacity on stock voltage they will run in excess of 70°C causing throttling. They have more cuda cores, basically that's why 670s are slightly faster. If you can get a twin frozr or an evga ftw 670 for same price or I'd say withing $40 more of a 760 I'd get it. Otherwise grab a 760 (non reference). An overclock model 760, will easily be on par with a stock clocked 670.

If you're thinking of going 4K, don't go Nvidia. The current drivers have significant issues with the current batch of 4K displays.
 
I will be purchasing one of the Korean 27" monitors that, as I understand it, can only do 2560x1440. How well would a 760 do at this resolution for gaming?

I'm using a 7870 at 1440p and no complaints here. The 760 should have a little more power than my card, so you should be fine?
