As consumers how will we know when the non bugged Haswell boards will be out? I'm twiddling my fingers while waiting for the non bugged parts to come out so I can build a new PC...

I'm pretty sure motherboard manufacturers will advertise it all over their boards, just like they did with the B3 stepping of P67.

Last I heard it was late July, early August. That is why some manufacturers are delaying the release of their boards (ASUS, EVGA).

The USB 3.0 device disconnecting when waking from sleep bug.

So at least they should be out in about 2 months then. I guess I can wait that long then. Just this stupid 900D just sitting here in my living room until then...

I'm looking for any mention of anything and I don't see any official word about new mother boards from any manufacturer.

I spotted a C2 Z87X-OC BIOS update feature that was removed from the Gigabyte WEB site.

Appears to have been a ninja edit. I think C2 mother boards are going to sneak into the supply quietly.

I really think they are trying to keep this C2 issue on the low down so that everybody doesn't scream for the fix.

I'm getting ready to scream. :D

That's what I was afraid of, they need to be more open about it though because it's holding me back from upgrading my PC. Are the current boards marked as C1 on the chipset? If I have to buy retail so I can return the board if I don't get a C2 I will, but I hate playing the buy and return lottery game until I get a good one. Like Dell back in the day with their Panel Lottery, what a bunch of crap.

External USB 3.0 drives are pretty common these days and the mere fact that there aren't many (I haven't seen any) complaints with Z87 systems so far, it seems to suggest that this sleep bug is much ado about nothing. Rumor even has it that the issue has already been fixed at the OS level.

Nevertheless, those seeking perfection can always wait until there is some certainty that C1 based boards are no longer shipping. AFAIK, the only way to tell what you got at this point in time is using CPU-Z after you've completed the build. Feedback from those willing to comply with requests to run CPU-Z and report back is probably one way to go about it. But is it worth it?

Umm so just don't use sleep mode? is this the only issue with c1? just want to make sure before I pick up a new system..Thanks

I've seen confirmation from people that have received the Asus Maximus VI Impact overseas that it has the C2. So other boards with the C2 revision should be out any time now.

I can't remember where I saved this pic from. :)

Anyone any confirmation of Gigabyte boards being shipped with the C2 revision? I'm waiting on getting a UD4H.

I guess I should have just bumped this thread with the information I found, it only applies to ASUS though.

>They are using a different product code for the C2 stepping :>

Non C2 Stepping : 90MB0DV0-M0MAY0, 90MB0DV0-M0EAY0
C2 Stepping : 90MB0DV0-M0EAY5

Thanks John>I have also just been told by ASUS Australia (via my retailer) that there will be a 'C2 stepping' sticker slapped on every box for the revised boards.>

forgive me if it is incorrect.

Here are the model numbers (C2 stepping has different model number)

More C2 Part Numbers :) I found.

As I recall when a chipset has an issue that is later fixed the boards will get a new revision.
The gigabyte board in question is V1.0, the fixed issue I would assume they would release V1.1.
The latest F7 bios states:

Support PCB ver 1.0/1.1
Improve PCIE-E compatibility

That tells you they have 1.1 coming out soon, nothing showing on their site yet though.

I read they are already out. I think this is just a quiet refresh.

If you're going ud4h;might as well get the pumpkin board :)
They are very nice..btw..I never had any issues..

You mean the Z87X-OC?

I haven't seen any of those with C2 yet. I haven't seen any UD4H with C2 yet as well.

I had a Z87X-OC.... Didn't work out for me. Now I am trying a UD4H. I think the UD4H is a better value and you get more features and more expensive VRM for less money.

The Z87X-OC VRMs use 8 phases powered by single IR3553 and the UD4H has 8 phases powered by 2xIR3553 per phase. Double the IR3553. UD4H seems like a better deal. The Z87X-OC features the over clocking manual controls but IMO they are really best used by proffessional over clokers using Liquid Nitrogen for cooling.

Has anyone, possibly European members, actually purchased a C2 version of z87 Sabertooth? and if so, have you checked the chipset version # in CPU-Z? I have not found any motherboards with C2 revision (90MB0DR0-M0EAY5) for sale in the US.

Any word on if / when the ASUS Z87 Gryphon boards have / will have the C2?

EDIT: Doh! Reading failure. Just saw it on the list. Thanks Ultra Wide. Is it safe to assume those parts are being shipped now?

I have only seen 1 actual photo on the internet for an Asus with C2 stepping and it's in Europe:

I went to buy a VI Hero at Microcenter and it was still the old version. So I am holding off until my local Microcenter gets the C2 revisions boards. :D

One has to wonder WHAT ELSE intel fixed in the C2 stepping.

I'm about to buy 2 Z87 boards and I definitely want the latest stepping... Looks like I might be waiting a while.

Got a GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD5H that should be here Wednesday. Will let everyone know what stepping it is. Got to build a rig for a friend with it.

When you get it and if it is a v1.1 with the new C2 stepping, do me a favor and toss any drive on the Marvell controller and see if you have the constant on HDD light.
Always possible if it's a firmware issue with the Marvell chipset during this refresh they have the latest otherwise I am still lost to why this happens.

I have an older Asus sata III add-on card with the 88SE9123, latest driver and it does not have this issue, it also sees my Samsung F3 just fine, in fact it's faster on that controller then the ICH10R.

Does Gigabyte indicates C2 boards with newer revision 1.1?

KILLER_K: Please, let know which revision and which stepping you will obtain.

I'll say it again:
Mobo PC revision # is irrelevant to C1 or C2 SB install.
New chip will fit in any revision PCB
If anything OTHER than soutbridge is changed for whatever reason, the PCB revision may change also.
The SB revision will change as noted

Edit:
Fwiw I just got back from Fry's and didnt see a single C2 mobo - ASUS Gigabyte or MSI

But I was thinking that Gigabyte will mark it something...?
Would be great if someone with Gigabyte Mobo with C2 stepping let us know which revision does he have...

What is the point then of them having different revisions if they do not change anything?
That is the point.
If anything has been changed, upgraded, modified or otherwise improved to deviate the old board from the new board they change the revision otherwise nobody would have a clue what hardware they are buying.
Not everybody knows about CPU-Z and uses it to see what stepping they have.
I guess somebody could always contact Gigabyte and ask and hopefully get an honest answer.

Sadly, Gigabyte haven't got give me an answer which boards are C2.
I was asking about Sniper M5 and they don't know how to discover it...
