It is a fact that tablet sales are on the rise over the PC platform, but now, even that blossoming market is beginning to slow more quickly than expected by analysts.

In particular, the firm points to the growing influence of smartphones with screens larger than five inches, the eventual impact of wearable computing, and simple market saturation.

People get tired of disposable product, especially short-cycle disposables like tablets and smart phones. Those fast turn over markets always burn themselves out. Only the true, indoctrinated, and lobotomised Apple purchasers can be scammed every six months for their entire lifetime.

As people get tired of trying to ride the leading edge of the "mobile computing" wave, both markets are going to cool off severely.

More likely any tablet or smart phone is just as good as any new phone or tablet. What's the reason to upgrade? No application uses more then 1 CPU core anyway. The only limitation is software, which needs to catch up badly. Even then, new CPUs will burn through battery power, and create lots of heat. Making it pointless to buy one.

It's a lot like the PC. Once you have one and it works, there's no reason to upgrade. Not unless the company who makes the product is a dick.

all i see is another dotcom burst. but this time, it might be more catastrophic.

Apple is in serious trouble if ipads reach saturation and sales start going down fast. Since they have nothing new all they have is iphones and ipads.

And poor Microsoft which is barely breaking into the market, if tablets reach saturation I don't see how they can make a profit unless they can innovate something.
