Has anyone taken apart a fan from a Corsair H110? One of mine is making some noise and I want to take it apart to see if I can clean it up and/or lubricate it a bit. I took the sticker off the back and there's no hole where the fan axle would typically be exposed. I went ahead an ordered from AF-14-PWMs so these existing H110 fans are going to be replaced so it doesn't hurt to try to open 'em up.

yes you can easy just pull out the blades.. lubricate it and re-insert in the rotor... will be good if you lubricate with some grease no oil. oil have a good chance to be spreaded by the rotation... also you do not want that kind of high airflow fans on a h110. try to find Static Pressure optimized fans..

I figured that out a little bit ago. Unfortunatley it didn't make any difference. I cleaned it up, added some oil (oil was already in it) but the noise didn't change. I swapped the blades from the working fan onto the noisy one and it was still noisy meaning the problem is in the fan housing, not the blades.

Typo on my fan order, I have a pair of Noctua NF-A14 PWMs on the way. They are pricy but reviews are solid and the specs are decent. They should be quite a bit quieter than the stock H110 fans. Should be here on Monday.

yes, maybe a problem in the mechanism or the coil itself.. that things happens...

Just wanted to follow up on this thread. I contacted Corsair and they replaced the noisy fan with no questions asked. Top notch service!

Also, my Noctua NF-A14 PWMs showed up and the performance is great. As good or better than the stock Corsair fans with a lot less noise. Highly recommended!
