I'm looking for a new LCD monitor, mainly for games (fps, rts) and started looking at the new 120+ Hz LCD monitors.

After looking through many reviews and this forum I found that the new BenQ XL2411T would to nicely for some fast based fps gameing and should be on of the so called best high speed lcd on the market.

After some research I came across this problem -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6ygxbvUcRc

BenQ website says that this monitor has Gaming-comfort Flicker-free Technology enabled so in my understanding it should not flicker like that ( http://www.benq.com/product/monitor/xl2411t/ ).

Does any one have any info about why the BenQ web site advertises this monitor as flicker fee but it still flickers like all the others ? Are there different panel versions of this LCD or did I miss something and its normal that it does that ?

Thank you.

I think I read somewhere that the BenQ XL2411TE model is the flicker free one.

Should it be marked on the box cover XL2411TE or I have to look at the product code/serial number to be sure?

I was able to look at one of the models that the store had in stock and it said something like this -> XL2411T-B (or 8) Manufactured February 2013.

Any info regarding this would be really appreciated.

The Benq XL2420TE is flicker free and being sold as a revision 2 XL2420T in Europe. The actual text on Benq website suggests a revision 2 of the XL2411t is also coming. There must be a shed load of unsold stock of that too for them not to use a new model number.

so should I wait for the new model/revision or go for the revision 2 XL2420T?

Unfortunately the XL2420T doesn't seem to be in stock right now :(

thank you for the information... was really confused about the info on the benq web page and the user information regarding flickering. ...

The XL2420TE uses the same panel as the XL2411T.
It's the only PWM-free official 120Hz monitor available on the market.

There are many other 120Hz monitors, including overclockable models and LightBoost models, but none of them are truly PWM-free as the BENQ XL2420TE.

That said, if you're planning to enable LightBoost, and you are looking for the best LightBoost color quality, consider the ASUS VG278H (original).

Mark - check the actual text on the OP link:

Developed in collaboration with pro gamers, the XL2411T has been upgraded to eliminate flickering at all brightness levels.

The key word being "upgraded", since there was no prior version of it. If that's not a typo there could be a cheap PWM free gaming monitor coming. The XL2420te is $100 more than the XL2411t.
