Nokia’s manufacturing operations in India may be coming to an abrupt end. Nokia could be moving its entire India based manufacturing system to China, Nokia informed the Indian government. Nokia and the government are in dispute over a massive back tax bill.

“The political risk of operating in India [is] suddenly substantially higher and may inevitably influence future decisions to develop one’s operations in India.

Would be poetic justice to have Chinese become the technical support to India.

Good for India if the allegations are true, it's about time some country of note started taking these leeches to the cleaners when they try to duck their obligations.

Good job indeed India. Who needed those jobs anyway, certainly not the bureaucrats that taxed them out of existence.

if they move to china put a massive surcharge on all nokia products until they pay their taxes...if it is true.

Speaking as an Indian - I hope,HOPE that this useless government is voted out in April. We have a general election coming up, and they've run this country into the ground, while fattening their wallets - they inherited a current account surplus in 2004, and are running a CAD of 5% of the GDP..all in only 9 years. Yuck.
