Good thing I didn't buy L4D2 while on the Steam Sale. I'm sure L4D2 will go F2P soon with no warning the same way it happened 2 weeks after I bought TF2.

Yeah..........I'm still a little salty about that.

Not to mention how L4D2 was barely an improvement over the first game and probably could/should have been DLC.

ugh L4d3? really? :/ Never could get into that series.

Only one series should be working on part 3... Half Life! :D

Portal 3 will probably also be released before HL3...sad that HL has taken a back seat in the pecking order

I'll bet Valve is keeping HL3 for the new engine they are working on.

Also somebody is going to get into trouble for breaking the NDA on Source2 stuff.

Not really no. No one is going to get in trouble. A group went in to look around and Valve said they could take pictures. Someone obviously left their bug tracker up when they left their work computer. Hardly anyones fault, and no NDA was broken

ADS and focus on stealth, please. Environmental creation and destruction based on high technology physics would be cool, too! :)

I know what I'll be doing when its released :D

I have about the same amount of hours on L4D2. I don't play as much anymore because the community is pretty bad. It is hard to get a decent game when you don't have many friends that play anymore.

I can't wait for L4D3 though. It will be a day 1 purchase for me and my fiancee.

I could see HL3 and L4D3 packaged together when the Source 2 tech comes out, much like they did with HL2 and CS:S.

I am as hopeful as the next person when it comes to Half-Life 3, but honestly, Valve seems to have put the series on the back burner. I'll believe it when I actually see it. I think L4D 3 and Portal 3 will come long before HL3, if ever.

That would never happen... At least not for $60. HL3 and L4D3 would both fly off the shelves at $60 each, especially with the next gen consoles coming. It also wouldn't make sense to release two major equals at the same time.

L4D3 would make a good introduction to Source2. Its probably a much cheaper, easier game to make than HL3, and will probably sell better with the console crowd. Its a good stepping stone to see how Source2 will perform, similar to how we saw the CSS beta before HL2.

Just what we need, another zombie shooter...

Cause there aren't many of those!

They signed a NDA saying they would not release any photos of "in-works" projects.

I had a ton of fun playing L4D2. Thats said, I will believe in a number "3" title from valve when it's in my library.

Hell yeah. L4D was good, and L4D2 improved on that.

While I'd like to see HL3, I am fairly sure it's going to be an interactive movie, even worse that crap Episode 2 they released. Story, story, story. Fuck you and your stupid story.

Do you buy all your games years after they are released?

wow, to each his own I guess

I think L4D2 is the most fun I have ever had at a keyboard

Day one purchase for me. L4d versus is the only spark keeping me interested in gaming...fantastic angle on competitive play. Hopefully they get 3 balanced enough to keep the competitive scene alive this time.

There is no such thing as overrated. You say its is crap and millions say its great....so factor your negative score in with thousands of positive score and you have its rating....Which is great.

Its not over or under rated. Its just rated.

If someone asked me today what would I rather have L4D3 or HL3 it would be L4D3 all the way. 500+ hours vs 60 Hours. Playing with friends vs playing alone.

This some sorta nightmare? Goddamn zombie apocalypse and shit. Shit, shit, shit. [What] the hell we gonna do?

Gotta love Ellis, man.

Does anyone know why Valve just fucking dropped HL3 like a bad habit?

I mean, HL2 was made to have three episodes. Ep. 1, 2, and 3...so what happened? Ep. 2 was released in 2008...here it is FIVE YEARS later and fucking NOTHING!

Now, I understand they were working on other projects...but why just completely say "fuck you Half Life! Fuck you and you're whole 'Half Life is what MADE us' bullshit!!!".

I just don't understand. I mean, I don't even know that I want to play HL3 at this point. I feel like kicking Gabe right in his big fat face for just completely shitting his fat man runny shit all over the HL fans and, lets face it, the people who MADE Valve what they are today.

Goddammit!!!

He didn't say it didn't sell well, he said it was overrated ;)

How do you define what's overrated though. At the end of the day, a video game only needs to serve it's function as a video game. If someone had fun with it, it served it's function.

The problem I see is people often claim something is overrated if they do not enjoy it although others enjoy it very much. If a video game is fun, then it's good to those who enjoy it. You can't claim their opinion of the game is not accurate and it's overrated.
