I just picked up an fx 9370.

I mainly got it because I was curious on its performance.

Technically my mobo doesn't support it but it does seem to work fine so not sure if that is an issue or not.

I'm just wondering what benchmarks people would like to see it run through?

Also my full pc specs incase that impacts any of the benchmarks are:

mobo: GA-990FXA-UD3 rev1
cpu cooler: antec 920
ram: 16(2 sticks) gig ripjaw x cl10 4(2 sticks) gigs oczgold 1600
video cards: sli gtx 480s with antec 620s on each one
main HD: intel 330 ssd 120gb

I think the first thing you should do is remove the OCZ ram. Not that the ram is bad but I feel that mismatch ram may alter the results. And since the Ripjaws are more memory then logic dictates the removal of the OCZ sticks.

I would like to see how it does with number crunching like Prime 95 and the like. Then encoding and ripping.

of benchmarks i seen of 9590 which is clocked at 4.7-5ghz, 9370 is 4.4-4.7ghz. at stock speeds the 9590 barly beats 3770k/4770k at stock clocks in some test's. most test were pretty even but when you consider 77/84 watt tdp vs 200+tdp even when both chips are 300-350$ its pretty easy to decide which to buy. That is not counting ~70-100$ extra you need to drop on those 9370/9590 cpu's cause they come as OEM parts if you don't buy prebuilt system.

I'll try some of the benchmarks with and without the ocz then to see if there is a difference.

Any benchmarks you want me to take could you link to site to DL them.

Please don't derail this thread off topic.

FYI the I picked up the cpu for $349CAN on its own. Most places that have it in stock don't require you to buy it as a package.

Cool I would be interested came by a 9590 myself but at no cost...;)
I have already seen most of the reviews but went ahead and ordered a ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z to throw it in anyway...

IDK-but we shall see I'm only into it for the cost of the board.

Figured I play with it more for the fun of it than anything else....We shall see!

Look forward to your results.

Edit: Hoping the board will arrive tomorrow morning.

Yeah, no kidding. Lets just get this out of the way right now for all the Intel trolls. AMD sucks, theyll always suck and all their processors suck. Intel for life bro!

There, now that thats settled, lets just see what this chip can do and who gives a flying fuck if it can beat an Intel or how much it costs. I for one want to see what kind of benchmarks these things can muster for the fun of it.

OK. I'll do it in the morning. I'm pretty wiped from working in the garage all day. I'm going to bed.

If over clocking an fx8350 tells us the performance then I'm more curious what the over clocking headroom is like compared to the 8350

Yeah I might try to see what it can OC to. Since my mobo doesn't actually support it though not sure if that will impact what I can do with it.

What 9370/9590 is, is a very carefully binned 8350. Idea was what AMD was trying to do was cool but end results were well kinda disappointing in the benchmarks i have seen. Sites i seen that have gotten their hands on 9590, they weren't able to get barly anything over 5ghz Overclock on it. i mean 5.016ghz without turbo boost stuff.

Seriously please stop trying to derail this thread. Thanks.

Im with everyone else. Why regurgitate the same thing over and over again until you are blue in the face. I guess everyone is entitles to their opinion, but nobody here gives a shit. I invite you to go into every 4770K thread and post "thank god this processor is faster than the new fx 9590 in some benchmarks, what a great deal"

I'd be interested in seeing some overclocking results. I haven't seen any results on the net for these at all.

Xbanzai, some sites have done it and cpu is pretty much at its limit outta the box.

I'd be interested in this as well. Curious to see on how much more you can squeeze out of these chips.

Please use a decent cooler, the only OC review I've seen on these chips used a twin-tower air cooler; I'd like to see the results with a kraken X60...

If a Kraken X60 can keep a 2700k @ 5ghz under 80C. You would think it can cool these beasts at 5ghz easily.

I too am interested in some Overclocking numbers :) I might never buy one, but as a hardware guy I love to see what a CPU can do.

lol....This is what I have set aside for cooling my 9590.
I received my board today and will be setting it up tonight to torture the Sh** out of her....
Really interested in temps and wattage used???

Cannot wait to compare results.

I would be interested in seeing overclocking and if they can be run at stock frequency with a voltage decrease.

Anyone found benchmarks on this 9370 i cant find them anywhere on the net im trying to figure if i want to buy an 8350 or a 9370

Sender007 Hows things going on your end? If you need links to anything or info on how to run anything send me a PM or post here.

My 9590 is up and installing the OS now.

My 9590 is up and running and installing the OS now.

My system seems stable. I have run a few games on it to see what the temps get to and so far I haven't seen anything hotter than 60. But once the temps get over 50 my cooler fans start to become pretty noisy.

I have never really benchmarked anything so if you could post or pm me the links to any benchmarks I should run I should have time to do some when I get off work tonight.

And heres the first round of pics!

Sorry for the quality some are from my cell phone

So im getting Geekbench, cinebench and pcMark 7 right now I'll post them as soon as they are done.

Do you have a killawatt to share power consumption figures at stock? Is the 9370 stock volts actually at 1.5v?

According to Hardware Monitor it idles around 61w I'm not sure what the best way to measure the wattage unfortunately. I think the stock voltage was 1.5 yeah.

hmmm in the PCmark score I noticed it doesnt have my memory rated properly?

Memory 20,480 MB
Module 1 2,048 MB OCZ DDR3 @ 533 MHz
Module 2 2,048 MB OCZ DDR3 @ 533 MHz
Module 38,192 MB G.Skill DDR3 @ 667 MHz
Module 48,192 MB G.Skill DDR3 @ 667 MHz

Shouldn't it read 800MHz for each? I thought I had the multiplier set to 1600 in the bios.

Just a quick question for you sender; are you using the updated ud3? Their vrm's tend to run quite hot (spot fans help them tremendously).

I can't wait to see your oc'ed results :).
