[YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

It's discontinued. You might be able to find one on ebay or something. Asetek 760GC is the model name.

Hi does the new usb 3 revision still have issues with the power button misalignment? Or is it only for one old particular batch?

CPU idle around 35-40c, load around 60c and gpu idle 30c load 45c. Everything run smooth, but the gpu heatsink fin getting really hot, and need fan to cool it.

You should be able to fit like a 70mm fan or so right in between the PSU and the structure part of the case- have it exhaust hot air out our better yet blow on that HSF and you should be good. I seen it done by a few SG05 members- cant find a pic at the moment though.

Yes think abt add 80 or 70mm fan on back top by GPU to get hot air out. Thanks for advice! Same here I can't find other member with picture of it too.

I didn't know that but if it doesn't fit i'll DSR it and wait it out for the DirectCu Mini. :)

So yeah, the card fits fine, but I have a big problem I never foresaw: nVidia drivers.

Honestly, it's an utter joke. BSODs, crashes, hangs, and freezes.

So it's going back and nVidia can suck it until they provide some proper support.

Just got my SG05 in the mail yesterday. I'm trying to figure out what the purpose of the 5th standoff is for. I want to cut it off so I can lay my PSU down flat, but I wanted to know what it does first. :D

Pic here? http://imgur.com/FYaOWiY

Its for a silverstone card reader, most ppl who need the space just cut it off with a dremal

Awesome, thanks. Btw, do you know the model of card reader? Curious about Silverstone peripherals. :)

It might fit FP34 since that's an inch high just like the cutout on the panel. But SST rep Tony Ou said it was put there for an OEM customer, and Silverstone themselves never intended to support it.

Too bad they don't offer it for B2C if I get Tony correctly. Would really like an integrated SD card slot or reader as they come in pretty handy, e.g. like in a Macbook. They could do it when updating chassis (integrating only SD card slot).

Is there enough space between the PSU an the right ventilation holes to fit a Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM Fan? (i.e. 14mm).

I thougt about flipping the PSU and adding an extra exhaust fan : /

What problem are you trying to solve with this idea? Whatever the front fan and the GPU fans take in, is exhausted by pressure fairly equally through all vents in the case. Any fan you put up next to the PSU is going to have close to zero airflow.

Right now the psu sucks in the warm air from my corsair h60 and pushes it out of the case. I wonder if flipping the psu would lower the fan noise from the psu.

The case is designed to use the PSU to help direct airflow out of the case. The fan noise you hear is likely mostly from the back of the case, reflected off the wall? (at least mine is) Probably only way to solve this is to put some kind of baffle/duct around the PSU exhaust. Silverstone used to make one (PP02) for ATX form factor, but never did one for SFX.

Putting the PSU fan upwards means you are sucking in dust, and seems like it would just get the fan noise in a more direct line to your ears. Sure you can try it, but I don't think any extra fans will help matters if you are bothered by noise.

Honestly, I don't really know if it is the PSU or the GPU :p
The CPU (H60i + Noctua NF-F12) is silent.
Might do some testing next weekend ;)

Maybe I am also over sensitve coming from a 13" Macbook Pro which was absolutely silent under light load conditions (e.g. surfing, music, office, etc.)

With the help of some bending and cutting also a longer Asus dc2oc 770gtx fits well :

PSU is a ST45SF-G driving also an i5 2500k to 4850mhz @1.36, too hot in Italy right now to do 24/7 @5ghz

I'm just wondering how you'd fit a 10" card to actually get it inside the case. I have a 9.5" card and I barely got it inside.

Here's pictures of my setup. I'm using the Strider ST55F-G PSU and a Hyper 101 cooler.

Notice I had to remove all the front panel I/O, there just wasn't enough room :D

Can you fit an odd with the dcuii 770?

The card has to go in either first thing first, or right after the mobo has gone in, before the CPU heat sink and RAM (if not low profile).

Either way it has to go in from above and with the front fan removed.

This is actually even longer than 10" I Think, I Actually just temporarily removed the fan and slide it from the left side.

Edit yes it is longer:

Dimensions
10.7 " x 5.2 " x 1.6 " Inch
27.17 x 13.2 x4.06 Centimeter

I imagine it'd be almost impossible to install a large heatsink if the GPU was already in. One side is open, but the other side is just millimeters from the GPU PCB.

This is true. I've found it the easiest to put the card into the case, then hold it up and install the mobo with the heat sink pre-installed.

Hmmm. I can see that working. Would require some puzzle-like movements if you wanted to install, say, a 120mm sized tower cooler. :D But it would work!

Thanks for the tip.

How much does the Titan stick out from the metal that people cut off? Are there more than 2mm space between the metal and the plastic?

EDIT: I did read 7mm somewhere now, can this be right?

I can't measure it right now, but I can tell you my plastic front peace is slightly pushed out by the titan.

This is probably a very stupid question, but do you guys think there is anyway one could fit a gtx 780 phantom in the sg06 (With modding ofc) its only 7 mm longer than the reference cooler, but its a 2.5 slot cooler.

I believe so. A 10.5" long, 2 slot card will fit if you dremel out a front slot. I've found that if you don't insert the bottom tabs in the SG05 cover when installing it on the case, the sides of the cover will poke out and give you extra side clearance, so that should be enough 2.5 slot cooler. The issue I'd be concerned about along the bottom and back of the case where the sheet metal frame is folded up 1" to give a slot for the cover tabs. You might end up having to go along the entire bottom and back side and cut off that 1" if the Phantom cooler is that big.
