Bungie's Destiny E3 Gameplay Demo

I'd wear a cape too if I were a xenomorph. In fact, considering modern business dress code and all, I should be wearing one right now. Seems practical.

what is it running on pc ps4 or xb1

ps4. Although its completely staged when i first saw this at e3 it made me excited for the game. I hope to plans to put it on pc rumors are true.

To be honest.. nothing graphically seemed "next gen" at all.. the lighting was pretty decent.. but the overall feel seemed pretty bland. The people playing made me want to eyeroll and eat a gun at the same time.

There isn't really any "gameplay" there.. it looks like a shitty mix between Brink and Mass Effect.

Bungie: We don't want to make another Halo!! *cry* *cry*
Leaves Microsoft.
Makes Halo ripoff.

What made you think it looked like Halo? Surely not the Guilty-spark looking helpers....or dropships dumping various sized enemies....or the almost carbon-copy beat-down mêlée animations.....

I will never understand why they don't put the crosshair in the middle of the screen it's hard enough aiming with a freaking controller... plus i don't like looking at the sky when trying to aim.

To be honest.. nothing graphically seemed "next gen" at all..
If you're talking pc yea of course. If your talking current gen consoles... no nothing comes close to offering this amount of clarity and graphics.

Nope, wasn't that at all. :D

Yay... Console aiming for FPS games is like a monkey trying to fuck a football.... Blissful console kiddies...

Just remember - everything this games has to offer is easily accessible with the joypad. You can't extract any more than that.

Looks exactly like Halo to me. I'd even consider playing it... if they offer me enough money.

Felt to me like they were trying to make a very easy game 'look' hard. I'm not sure if the characters were just over-leveled for a tutorial-area but the average enemy died in 1 to 2 hits... and no real cover-fire was needed. Mobs seemed to stand in the open a good amount of time.... flanking planning? communication? kind of for fluff sake b/c it simply wasn't needed. Didn't help at all that the communication planning was a pretty annoying voice.

god the voice over its atrocious :( what happen? did the person have a helium balloon cocktail

Part of the reason this game didn't seem 'Next-gen' is if you click on the pre-order button at the end of the video to see what platforms this game is being released on, there's ...4 ...platforms including the near 7 year old systems, the Xbox 360 and PS3. It's not really a next-gen title but rather a multiplatform title that includes ancient hardware. No real difference than a 'console port -- to pc' where the minimum system requirements bar is still based of what's in the xbox 360/ps3.

Someone should do a redub with how it would really sound. Leeroy Jenkins, cussing 12 year olds, and lots of profanity.

The graphics in this footage do look a bit dated. not even up there with the end of life ps3/xbox360 games like halo 4 and the last of us (crazy good btw). I can understand if the graphics aren't as good because its is for consoles but they appear like wii U graphics.

There was absolutely nothing in that video that I found intriguing enough for me to want to play it. Looks like generic FPS shit to me. And that slow as shit joystick aiming makes me want to vomit every time I see it.

You guys are pretty tough... Yeah the voice over was cheezy but what do you expect from PR... They were trying to mimic an online experience.

Looked like a 3rd person action MMO, a flash event of somesort. Looked pretty cool, better then most MMO events I have seen (but its been a long while).

Unlocks for weapons... yay /sarcastic Freaking wish they would stop that grinding/mmo crap in action games.

Assault rifle seemed kinda worthless compared to that revolver...

Reminds me of Marathon, just like Halo did. Bungie has been making the same game over and over again, just more modern versions of it. I did really enjoy Marathon when I was a kid.

Looks okay graphically...not mind-blowing but not bad, especially if it's running on a console.

Seems like the person was using a controller, in any case.

Also, it looks like they're trying REALLY hard to copy Borderlands.

Well at least this game is not about bible thumping aliens.
So Glad Bungie told MS to eff off.

I've been saying it for years: There hasn't been a major graphical upgrade to the DX/OGL API's since OGL2/DX9. Sure, we've had API cleanups/restructurings (OGL3/DX10), and lots of new post-processing effects (Motion Blur, Tessellation, new AA modes), but in terms of graphics? Not much has changed API wise.

Point being: We are limited only by processing power. So you'll get a minor boost in graphical fidelity due to the PS3/360 being phased out, but no major generational jump in graphics. That's one reason I think the days of consoles are coming to an end.

The next real graphical enhancement will come when we get GPU's capable enough to handle Ray-Casting. I figure at least another 10 years or so before that becomes the norm. Ray Tracing is WAY off in the distance, given how absurdly slow the process is. Until then, you'll see a lot of new AA modes, AI improvements, and Physics probably inserted directly into the DX API. But graphically? Don't expect miracles.

yep!
I stopped watching as soon as I seen him take 4 minutes to look and mover around that first corner. Literally retarded! If this is supposed to be the big hype for the new console shooters...good lord!

Maybe I'm getting cynical and ornery at my old age, but this gave me an overwhelming feeling of 'meh'

I'll pay attention to Bungie again when they release a revamp of Myth.

Crytek already claimed Crysis 3 is more next gen then whats going to be on PS4/XB1, maybe people will start believing them soon?

The game looked entertaining.

Sure it felt like Halo and the many interior levels were similar. How many different stories can you tell about people shooting alien monsters before it becomes trite and repetitive?

At least the Multiplayer looked interesting. If it comes out for the PC I would give it a go.

I liked that the voice effects of the people talking were modified by the surroundings that the people were in. That seemed new to me.
