Msi 770 Gtx Twin Frozr. Max boost only 1136mhz.

Yes what you think about it? I get 1136mhz , but on reviews they got 1169mhz. Something wrong then?

Since it's gk104, the difference between 1136 and 1169 will not be noticeable. Every card, depending on how it's binned (& temps), will boost to different speeds.

To use as an example, my 780 boost's to 1084 out the box (rated at 1020mhz boost). But I've seen in reviews it boosting higher. Does that mean there is something wrong with my card? A big nope.

Yep and silent mode is 1020/1072, gaming 1059/1111 and OC 1111/1163. 1163 is also boost clock with most 770 gaming GPUs in default mode. Some boosts lower like one form litwicki23 and that is considered normal and its no problem in reality.

At least I found out about Gaming app.

Anyway i am worried. I know 3 ( examples ) peoples with the same card, and they had the same boost on 770 TF - 1162mhz. ( without using Gaming app )

I am only had 1136mhz. Maybe something wrong is? Maybe because of drivers? I had 320.080 installed.

Have you raised your temperature target?
Since you said your gpu gets to 78*C in some crysis game.
When the temperature gets to a certain point the gpu will downclock in 13,5Mhz intervals at each temperature point.

1162 - 13,5 - 13,5 = 1136.
Raise your fan speed to max or increase the temperature target see what the clocks then looks like.

In Rage i have max temp 40C with 35% fan. 1058 on core. This i am understanding. Game is not a much requirement.

But in other newest games i have always 1136mhz no matter what temps i get, 68+ or 75+.. Below 70+ or not below. Always 1136mhz.

For fuck sake. This has already been explained, your card is fine. But in your case if you keep asking this incessantly just return the card, you'll be better off because of it.

Also do you have vsync enabled ?

If you are keeping 60 fps stable then i assume card won't boost higher ?

roki977 you got max 77C in metro with SSAA 4x? Or you play without?

Today i played Metro Last Light with SSAA 4x and get maxed 79C .With 47-49 % fans and RPMS: 1350-1410

Should maybe lower i get like 72C+?

Its not too high?

Even 2 x ssaa is hardly playable on any gtx770, 4xssaa, no chance. I dont think even Titan can do it.

Just install MSI gaming app, press OC button and enjoy in low temps and good overclock with only one click.

roki977 i understand you. But the most important thing is that , you had boost to 1163 from a box on stock, without using MSI Application?

I have 1136mhz on stock boost. You dont use MSI APPLication to get 1163mhz?

Anyone else have any ideas on why my card seems to be the only GTX 770 out there that only boost to its set speed? I know technically, this is how it is supposed to work, but it just seems like my card has no ambition to go higher like all the others out there.

Now every single person I have talked to with a GTX 770 Twin Frozr has showed that during gaming or benching that their card will boost over the set default boost speed. All users I have talked to with a Twin Frozr card said, at stock clocks, their card actaully boosted over the default boost speed to 1163 Mhz during a run through of the Heaven benchmark or any games. This is without changing any settings in Afterburner and leaving all OC options at default.

I think that is a BIOS issue. Because....

I got 80.04.B4.00.2F..........And you got the 80.04.B4.00.10, on reviews they got too 80.04.B4.00.10

Downloaded both of those from TPU's bios database, opened with KBT 1.25, they're pretty much identical.
Same power, same voltage, same boost. Same everything.

Maybe theyrunning different on that cards 770 TF?

Strange. Because only i have 80.04.B4.00.2F.

Maybe power target is other?

Well I just ordered one of these babies, so hopefully my card OCs decently. I think I'd be happy with 1250mhz boost speeds.

I have a strange problem.
When i'm in Metro Last Light in one place, my GPU BOOST clock are fluctuating like crazy. ( 1110, 1084, 1123, 1097, 1136 )

When i am standing in that place in game and even dont touch mouse or keyboard, clocks of GPU fluctuating like crazy. ( JUST STANDING )
Here are the screens:

Its with SSAA4x. Currently i have that issue with 320.49 WHQL. When i was on 320.08 BETA, clocks was always in 1136mhz without fluctuating like this, on that place. Can somebody explain me that?

GPU: Msi Gtx 770 Twin Frozr
CPU: I7 3770K 3.5
PSU: Bq Dark Power P 1000W
M: Sabertooth Z77

Ok but this is not normal when my clocks are fluctuating to lower speeds on stock settings card, like that? ( 1084 mhz is lower than guaranteed stock Boost 1110 ) Can i rma that card?

There's nothing wrong with your card.
Your card is hitting 80*C under load. And why does that matter you might ask? The temperature target is 80*C. And that matters because? When it hits the temperature target the gpu will downclock slightly.
GPU Boost 2.0 in action...

Like I said, increase the temperature target and tadah, your clocks won't fluctuate.

Its strange because that clocks going down when VOLTAGE is 1.1750 or 1.1870 . Why?

And like i said, i am just standing on that place, without touching mouse or keyboard. Just standing and looking on that fluctuating clocks.

( on 320.08 i dont had that issue !)

lagittaja because its downclocking on stock settings card , i was thinking about RMA.

Did you even bother to open the TechPowerUp link I put in my last post?
Open it. Read it. Get it now?
It's how the GPU Boost 2.0 functions. You have a temperature target of 80*C.
When your card meets the temperature target, it will downclock itself to STAY at the temperature target.
If it wouldn't downclock, the temperature would keep rising above the temperature target.
How to fix this?
Increase the temperature target with MSI AB or EVGA Precision.

So if one time i hit 81C with 1136mhz its not bad? In Metro Last Light only with SSAA 4x. What you think?

And that's because the older driver utilizes your card worse than the newer driver. GG
Be ignorant if you wish.

No hehe , i am not ignorant. But on 320.08 i had 78C and not 80C. And always 1136 boost.

That usage is strange:

1097 mhz when 62.1 TDP

1136 mhz when only 58.2 TDP <--- Why!?

1136mhz and again 67-68 TDP

1123mhz when 68.4 TDP

1110 mhz when 64.5 TDP

1136mhz when 65 TDP

I want just to know:) Why sometimes downclock to 1123 mhz with temp 79C , and sometimes are boost 1136mhz with 81C temp?

Damn this thread is mind numbing. Increase the God damn temperature target just like I've said couple of times and just like EVGA_JacobF instructed you.

I thought I replied to this tread yesterday, but my brain probably shut down while reading through all of the replies.

If the card is working fine, no artifacts, no display corruption, no random shut downs, fans working, etc... then I would say all is ok with the card. RMAing a card for not hitting the same overclock as another card is crazy. You don't seem to fully understand how boost works on kepler cards.

How high an overclock is going to go it all based on how lucky you are playing the silicon lottery.
If the card is advertised to boost to 1111mhz and it's only boosting to 950, then I'd think about an RMA maybe.

whoops, double post.

it does feel like there is a lot of troll feeding gong on in this thread.

If I had this card I would water cool it and then you would have more over head for over clocking and your card would operate and perform much better.

Its my business how much topic i will create. I just want to had more opinions and answers. More respect please.

I have a question about my BOOST on my card . Like we all know , on that card default boost is 1110 MHZ, max i had 1136mhz.
What does it mean ? This 1110MHZ is minimum to achieve always in games?

I ask because sometimes i get lower than this , like 1083mhz when hit 80C.
If i get lower BOOST than manufacturer guaranteed ( 1110mhz ) can i RMA that card?!

Can somebody explain me that?

Maybe sent it to Nvidia I'm sure they would give you a lot of cash for such exceptional and weirdly behaving card ;)

You can always open a support ticket up with your card's vendor and explain what's going on and let them decide if and RMA would be the way to go.

That would be my best suggestion.
