Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

Wish I could help ya dario but I haven't had any need to reclaim or change anything, I just keep adding more damned ships.

I assume it will all be fine and if you reclaim your Digital Scout and upgrade to another tier with Alpha/Beta that everything will stay the same with the rest of your rewards since that only makes sense, you might toss an email out to the support address just to be safe. They really are pretty good about that stuff and lots of people have been posting and talking in chat about having no trouble changing stuff around.

I'd just hate to give anyone any bad account advice. Let folks know how things go whatever ya decided to do.

The only thing that should change is that you'd get access to the alpha and beta.

Ok but where did all that other stuff come from? Do they just give everybody 2000 credits, a repair bot, and some skins? Because I don't remember seeing that stuff in the package when I ordered it and it doesn't show in the new sites pledges either.

Yeah that probably would be best. If my hanger just showed the stuff in the packages I would do it but I just don't know where this extra stuff came from.

I'm also confused by Original and Veteran backer. Original is just the people that pledged during the kickstarter right? Veteran would be some one like me that pledged before June 28? But now they have extended Veteran to July 6 right?

Those are stretch goal rewards and for funding by a certain date. Just perks for being early.

If you up your pledge you should retain all the extra's and things (IE original/vet backer rewards, etc.

I upgraded from the Scout tier (which I got back in Nov ) to the Bounty Hunter and It kept all of my orignal backer goodies and everything I had, just changed my ship package to the bounty hunter with the 300i.

Oh ok thanks guys. I forgot about the stretch goal stuff so now it makes sense. And pledging now till July 6 is the same as pledging before June 28th and gives veteran status right? So yeah I think I won't lose anything. I think I might make the upgrade since you never know maybe this will end up like MWO and be beta for ever and ever :)

Wow dude you are WAY late to this party. :p

i agree, i suck. hahaha. i feel like i looked at the kickstarter though and wasnt interested.. was it a different video than what is on the site now?

star citizen and squadron 42 are two different games?

I was only absent from the stream a few minutes at a time yesterday but I did have some people over for a big part of it and we were talking a lot and playing some cards etc. I might have missed something, did they specifically say that wasn't going to happen Cyco?
chris has mentioned on multiple occasions that ships will not simply disappear when you disconnect, for the obvious reasons.

yeah, they extended the deadlines and gave all veteran backers all of the perks the original backers had (2,000 bonus credits, a repair bot, etc). you'll be good to go as long as you make your upgrade before the grace period ends next saturday. reclaiming a pledge is painless; it just gets converted into store credits which you then use to help offset the cost of whatever you want.

same video (but we have a bunch of cool new videos now!). it basically is two games, the single player part (the squadron 42 campaign) and the multiplayer part. the game is star citizen, though.

Yeah I went ahead and did it. Worked fine. But that's going to be it for me till I actually get to play the game. I might spend some more then but I don't think I could ever be some one that drops 100's on a game, especially one I haven't even played.

Oh I agree, but it was relatively clear. I just don't know if last night was due to too much vodka and lemonade on his part or kahlua, vodka and cream on my part. :p

@SolidSnakeUS We really have to organize and have a squad, that way we could organize what ships we have , what we need and goals ect.

Im so confused.
So whats the process in upping my pledge.
I am an original backer from the 1st website before kickstarter.

Bounty Hunter
+ aurora
+315 P upgrade

Im considering going fleet admiral for the constellation.
Can I just upgrade and pay the difference or do I reclaim and pay fresh?
I assume I need to reclaim the 315p upgrade as I will no longer have the 300i? But I should be able to straight upgrade to admiral?

Anyone else here have the golden ticket as well?

Got 2 of them :D

CR said in the livestream the stuff from the Golden ticket will be cosmetic and some minor perks that will not give you a competitive advantage in the game.

So I just purchased the Pathfinder - LTI and I see "Reclaim" and "Gift" as my options. Is it safe to go ahead and redeem which deletes my pledge, or should I wait?

I think you mean Reclaim. I'm pretty sure that's basically a "Return for credit" button, which returns the pledge package, but leaves you with that much money in credit to apply for something else.

if you want a different package, go into your hangar (hover over "my rsi" in top right corner and select "my hangar"). this will show everything you have, and you can reclaim your pledges here for store credits. once you've done that, get the pledge you want (scroll and and verify it has what you want). when you go through you checkout process, there will be a button called "credits and coupons". click it, and use store credits to offset the cost, then you just pay the difference however you want.

Thanks Castun, it makes sense now. I'm a little slow :(:D

I wont loose any of my benefits from buying in early? Ill still keep my lifetime insurance etc?

Is [H] going to start a clan/guild/conglomerate or something?

I have available

2x Idris-P
1x Retaliator
1x Constellation

You will lose all benefits except what is listed on the pledge page. I have already done it once.

Currently on the pledge page all ships have LTI, but very few packages include Alpha-Beta access. (which is more important than LTI IMO)

You seriously have 2 Idrises?

But yeah, I'm down to do a [H] squad/clan. I have a 315p right now, but I'm contemplating spending the extra $5 for a 325a.

Me and my coworker have an Idris each.

Also, you should upgrade the 315 to the 325a, its only 5 bucks.

Go to your hangar and next to the package you want to reclaim, click the triangle on the right. This will show a drop down list associated with everything in that package.

EVERYTHING it shows in that drop down list you will lose if you reclaim it. (this includes ingame credits, LTI, Alpha-Beta access, etc)

The new pledge will come ONLY with what it shows on the pledge screen. For instance pledging for a Constellation does NOT include Alpha-Beta access.

In your scenario, the Rear Admiral does come with Alpha-Beta and a bunch of other stuff so no, you wouldn't be losing anything except the 300i.

perfect. thanks.

I adopted early on but never really fallowed it until now. When dealing with money like this I dont wanna fuck it up.

Im sure its been answered before, but the bigger ships with multiple crew positions...are those ships going to be capable by just a pilot? For instance, if I have a constellation and its just me in it, what happens with the turrets? Do I hire AI crew or does the ship auto manage those items?
Same with the cargo fighter? Do I set the main ship on auto pilot and I can pilot the fighter or what? I assume so right? otherwise whats the point of a fighter in the bay if it leaves the main ship idle.

Everything you said is correct.

Each position can be filled with an NPC with varying degree's of "skill" except for the P52 snub fighter. (although they said a good human will always be better)

You can hop into the P52 with the constellation on autopilot though.

I assume these NPC screw will cost us a pile of spacebucks?

no, you should have the title of "original backer" regardless, so you'll be fine. if you have doubts, you can always just e-mail cig and ask customer service.

whoa, you're mistaken! you are looking at the add-on ships. for the actual packages that include the credits and the game, you need to click on the link under "packages" on the pledge page.

everyone is talking about the deadline next week. What kind of price changes are expected?

no, I am not mistaken.

Everything I said was true and applies to packages as well as individual ships.

I answered his specific question at the last line, but the first 3 lines were just general so multiple people will benefit from the post.

Weird. I reclaimed everything I have and when I goto buy the rear admiral it doesnt apply the $95 credit towards the $250 rear admiral....
