Ubisoft encourages players to sign The Devision PC petition.

They're encouraging people to express with signatures what they already know. I have to ask: why?

With the Division being an MMO you would think PC would be a primary target for Ubisoft since it would have its own built in drm something Ubisoft loves.

I noticed, this isn't from Ubisoft, but a guy in Texas looking to get all the big releases ported/released on PC.

the petition isnt made by ubisoft but ubisoft is telling people to sign it and post on forums they want it ect.

it makes sense.. ubisoft Is using it to gauge interest.. I would do the same if I was in ubisofts position

Exactly, given Ubi's past PC releases which have left the PC community in shitstorm rage, i'd be wary also. I'd be wary from the PC community as well, the game looks great, however Ubi can fuck things up as they did in the past.

Tomb Raider is a Square Enix/Eidos Montreal game, which is fully supported for PC

FC3 & FC3 Blood Dragon are fully supported for PC as well.

FarCry 3 and Tomb Raider left the PC community in shitstorm rages?

Tomb Raider was developed and published by Ubisoft?

I'll give you FarCry 3, but that single successful release has already won you over?

Well, Tomb Raider is my GOTY on PC so far so but different studio.

Far Cry 3 was pretty good as well.

My mistake on Tomb Raider. That was published by Square.

As for Ubisoft "winning me over", no. But I'm aware of no significant backlash toward that release.

Are you aware of the past Rainbow Six releases from 2005 to 2008? Starting from Lockdown.

In truth, it was the developers encouraging signing the petition. Not UbiSoft. But I agree, it should be on PC, and it most likely will be.

I'm pretty sure they are just positioning themselves for the right moment. Probably they already know it's coming to PC after a year or so and then they can tell us - you see, we listened to you, we value your opinion, now buy the freaking thing you pirates... And I would because it looks really good.

Yes. Is there a follow-up question?

Yes. Since you can follow as far back as those releases, then you do know why the PC community has raged against Ubi on many occasions, right?

Not trying to draw any correlations to previous Tom Clancy games, this is a new IP under the name. So, it can go any direction and still be good as it looks. All I simply said was to be wary, given their past. No need to get defensive.

Of course. All I'm saying is that you have to gauge a company's actions by what they've done recently and not by what they've done five or more years in the past. This market's competitive, and publishers are constantly trying to figure out ways to distance themselves and their games from those of other publishers. For better or worse, Ubisoft isn't the company they were five years ago.

I can look a lot of Ubisoft's past games and say "they clearly don't get it", then at Far Cry 3 and say "it feels like maybe they're starting to get it". The latter seems a lot more relevant.

AS soon as they give up their AWFUL uplay service and set Digital River on fire, I MIGHT consider paying for one of their games. As is, the only reason I have any uplay only games on my pc is bc they were free via AMD.

They suck. Big time. Worse than MS in terms of drm and silly shit. Plus, uplay just doesn't work.

You see the new Xbox?

Anyways, I guess I've had good luck with Uplay or something although I really don't care for it. Never use DR. It seems pretty pointless to put your games on Steam and then still lap on something like Uplay.

However, chances are if this comes to the PC, I'll buy it.

Game looks cool, though Ubisoft is going a little nuts with the "future soldier"/augmented reality business.

Not sure why this petition needs to exist. Ubisoft will do whatever the fuck they want, anyway. They know there is a market for PC gaming.

Signed for that plus Red Dead Redemption & Last of Us petitions.

Red Dead Redemption is the one game keeping me from selling my xbox360. Its essentially an RDRbox at this point. Everything else on offer for 360 is garbage or I already have a superior version on PC

I dont believe RDR will ever come to PC, they're already working on the next Red Dead title, so if any Red Dead title has a shot at PC release, it's the next one.

For as stupid as Ubisoft is, I'm sure it's developers that are pushing this. They know this game would be superior on PC, but the suits only care about the dollar.

Ubisoft can shove their games deep in their asses. I was about to say that I've never enjoyed a single game published by that company but I remembered XIII. Such an great game.

Are you aware of the past Rainbow Six releases from 2005 to 2008? Starting from Lockdown.

Not only did they ruin the R6 and Ghost Recon games, but even Splinter Cell was kicked down a notch in recent releases. Their own games with the Tom Clancy name slapped on top, such as HAWX 1/2 and End War were rather sub par. HAWX 1 was uninspired and rather poor compared to PS2 era Ace Combats and HAWX 2 was worse with even lazier development and bugs.

I understand these are various different studios but they have not been doing a good job with many of their games as of late. Far Cry 3 was an exception.

this is awesome. ubisoft is pretty good at listening to their clientele.
like very good.
i truly believe their developers are more actively listening to their fans and reading their forums than other developing teams.

p.s.
i dont work for ubisoft lol

I am not signing a petition, you don't want to bring your game to me, your loss.

Signed for that plus Red Dead Redemption & Last of Us petitions.

only hope for Red Dead on pc is if someone releases a working 360 emulator.

I know Ive been wanting to play it in 1080p (or higher) with some eyecandy since it first launched. Was a real kick in the nuts when Rockstar released LA Noire on pc after having come out on console so much later than RDR did as that pretty much let everyone know RDR wasn't going to be on PC ever.
