I'm choosing between MSI Gaming and Gigabyte.

Gigabyte:

MSI:

The fact is that the MSI is really quieter at load, but little hotter.
Gigabyte is louder and little cooler.

MSI is little less overclocked.

I would like too choose the one with better cooler.

My older ASUS GTX 465 suddenly goes to silicon heaven some days after warranty, so I would prefer the one with better quality...

Thanks.

im a MSI fan, but i feel both are equally as good.

Gigabyte's windforce cooler is really, really good from my experience with it. Never found it to be loud either.

Both cards are excellent to be honest. Though I'd recommend the gigabyte one, if I had the choice. Higher clock speeds, slightly better cooler, and both are priced the same.

I would go with price/performance before anything else.

Yeah, whichever one gives the better price/perfomance. In this case, the GB. ...and I'm an avid MSI GPU fanboi.

I have for the same price both.
The Lightning is more expensive, so it's not in my budget...
The Windforce have about 1000rpm more in load than MSI.
I was wondering if I manually increase the fan speed on MSI about 10-20% it could be cooler and quieter card than Gigabyte...

After running the 770 Lightning and GB Windforce in my rig I picked the windforce. Mine hits over 1300 on the core and 7800 memory and its quieter and cooler than the lightning... oh did I mention its 50 bucks less ;)

At higher fan speeds, the twin frozr 4 is louder (in my experience). The windforce has similar clocks to the lightning and is $50 cheaper. Win, win in my book.

And do you changed manually rotates of fan?
Because in reviews MSI was the quieter one.
Which one was louder when the both were not overclocked in idle?
I was thinking MSI is quieter due the lower RPM's at idle.

Interesting discovery.
MSI have 2x8-pin and have better power limits than Gigabyte who has only 1x6-pin and 1x8-pin.

Do you have MSI Gaming or Lightning version?

I tested a gtx 680 lightning (which has the twin frozr 4.. died :() and a windforce 7950 earlier this year. Unless they made some drastic change with the cooler's, it should apply with these.

Quieter by how much? I haven't seen the reviews but if it's just off by 1-2 dB, it's not a significant amount.

It may just be that the Windforce has a more aggressive fan profile (louder and cooler). If you run the TF cooler up, it will be louder as well.

I can vouch for the MSI card (I'm the first Newegg review on the product, BTW. ;) )

It's very quiet and mine runs at 65C during full load at 70% fan speed. Even at that speed I can barely hear it over my case fans. You don't need to spend $50 more for the Lightning version.

If you will have it run only on automatic RPM's how big will be temperatures?
I think it's depend on game you've playing.
For instance on Crysis 3 the temperatures should higher.
I have only midi tower Thermaltake Swing and have only one 120mm fan in front and one 120mm fan at the back.
And I agree, Lightning is not worth for 50$ more.

I might be a little biased but my experience with the Galaxy GTX 770 GC was top notch.

I've been using a Galaxy GTX 680 GC for a year now myself and there were still notable improvements when I tested the 770 GC, even with the slightly lower 1163Mhz factory clock (vs. 1176Mhz on the 680 GC). I'd say it was about 5% faster all around but ran much quieter on default fan settings and much cooler on a custom profile. The dark brushed metal finish and deep blue LED effects look badass too. Just my opinion.

Oh, and you can always pm me if you ever need help with anything.

When can we expect the 770 GC and the 780 SOC to hit retail? Also any plans for a white pcb titan? :)

I was scouring and found the Msi gaming was about 5db quieter...but I think test setups were different. I could not find test by the same person with those two cards.

770 GC is out, linked above. Other 770/780 versions I'm still unable to comment on for the moment, but trust me when I say that I won't keep you guys in the dark any longer than I have to.
