Windows 8 30 dollars after rebaits

This again?
-First it was a free hard drive (with the internet security rebate)
-Then a processor for 50% off
-Now Win 8
They must be having trouble unloading :rolleyes:
 
Been wanting Acronis anyway. Could always use another Win8 license, too. Might jump on this. Rebates, though.... Hate those. There is always a reason why they can't fulfill it (didn't reach them in time, but others did in the same town)... Not sure if I want to chance it on that much cash. Hmmmmm......
 
Is this one where you have to sign up for a subscription in order to get it? Or is there really a way to get everything for ONLY $30?
 
Rebates today are stupid. I'd have to order a printer to print it out, then the printer breaks if I don't constantly use it to keep the print heads from clogging, so the next time I need a rebate I have to buy another printer.

Plus the fact of "pay us up front and we'll decide if we'll reimburse you later" just scream SCAM.

So it's garbage.

I'm with you on the printing nonsense. Scan/Picture of the UPC, PDF of the invoice, done. No more wasting paper, stamps, ink, etc.

I've never had a rebate fail before though, I've done 20+ from several companies.

Pretty basic requirements on all of them. Purchase within date range, UPC + Invoice + document.

Sounds like you haven't dealt with TigerDirect a lot then. Between them and , two sites to avoid like the plague, especially TD on the rebates.
 
Last week I bought a HD with a $20 rebate, sent in all the materials, and they emailed me to tell me I did not send in the date of purchase. It was clear on the copy of the receipt that I sent. Once I pointed that out they approved it.

Win 8 is a great improvement over Win 7- - IF AND ONLY IF: you have touch screen or classic start/ start 8 for desktop use

It is noticeably faster, task manager is amazing, eDrive, ssd optimization. The user account across multiple devices is nice too (web/cloud sync)

Haha. when I bought my 560ti's, both were from TD. Somehow I sent in both rebates about a week apart and was credited for both! I enjoy rebates, but some companies you have to harass them...
 
The most ridiculous I've ever seen was Sapphire when I bought one of their 5870. I had to go to one website and register, then go to another and do something else, then I had to print out the form which basically had 50 different places to initial and if you missed one, you were disqualified. Then you had to print out an address label and it had to be printed. If you handwrote the address on the envelope, you were disqualified. It had to be taped onto the envelop too. If it was glued, you guessed it, you were disqualified. So I did all that and made sure I didn't miss any of the thousand tiny details and sure enough, 10 freaking weeks later I got my $20 check card.

Yeah, fuck rebates.
 
just take a class at a community college from time to time and get free licenses for all kinds of fun stuff :)

Checked out some videos of Start8. That's all they had to do was include this and I think it wouldn't have been so widely panned. I may play with it on a VM just to see.
 
Not sure if any of you dealt with NZXT rebates, submitted one in November, still no word!!

NZXT is crap when it comes to customer service based on my limited exposure I've had. I'm sure some of you may have had good experiences.
 
How are you going to get both the $93 and $60 rebate to get it down to $30? Looks like they both want the Total Defense ISS UPC code?

I've never not gotten back a rebate, so I guess if I did it made it back! :p
 
I don't know if that was intentional or not about misspelling rebates as "rebaits", but if so, it's genius! (Unlike Windows 8.)
 
It would be nice if there was more discussion on the actual offer.

So do you have to activate the AV subscription, then cancel it before the year is up in order to get the deal?Or are you forced into a longer subscription that costs money you cannot get out of?

IE what is the total price over time going to be for all items after rebates etc...
