This seems to be the closer-to-production version of the mini-ITX case prototype they showed a few months back.

More coverage at TweakTown.

Like the earlier prototype it appears to use a 1U sized PSU, though it's not clear if still has room for a top-mounted double rad. IMO the look of this revised design is a nice improvement over the previous version.

I like the looks. And like that they moved the PSU, although I wouldn't want to a 1U PSU in my desktop system... unless they had a custom one made that didn't have the tiny fan at the back. It looks like it's at the bottom of the case now. If it had a fan that pulled from the bottom somehow I'd be happy with the system.

edit: according to this, it says the PSU is integrated, maybe it's customized http://www.tweaktown.com/news/30755/evga-debuts-new-itx-box-at-computex-taipei-2013/index.html

Any idea on dimensions? I guess expecting <18L is wishing a bit too far?

Ah, I meant the EVGA one. I naturally assumed after the Prodigy that the microATX version would be massive and completely miss the point of the form factor.

I really like this, and I hope they have the 1U PSU's noise output figured out.

be awesome if EVGA actually starts coming out with real functioning cases, not jus big metal boxes with crazy fan accommodations, made specifically for high performance gpus.

Wonder if this version is going to be taller than previous prototype that had a flat top fan grill.

The 1U PSU is an automatic non starter for me, unless its passively cooled which I highly doubt.

Plus i dont like how they put it on the bottom, adds to the case height. They should have put it at the front of the case.

Top still has the 240-280 rad, that was always the point to this case, and honestly if you want ITX and water cooling AND a window this is probably the best layout for it. Now if they would just move the PSU and make it passively cooled they would have a real winner on their hands.

Im sure it will sell though, most gamers systems are so obnoxiously loud already they won't notice the 1U fan.

Now MAYBE if that front piece raising the case up is removable, and the bottom matches the top, and I can mod a quiet 120mm fan onto that PSU, or possibly fit an SFX psu there, then it might make a nice HTPC case. The depth seems pretty shallow, that GTX Titan goes right up to the inside edge of the case and the front bezel looks very thin. It's probably less than 300mm deep. Width looks around 160mm-ish, and height is probably around 300mm. So around 14.5 liters in volume, which puts it right on par with an SG08.

The top picture looks rendered, if you look at the bottom one it appears there's a screw holding that raising bar on the bottom, and the hole patterns along the bottom side look just like the top side, and if you look through the window you can see the bottom has vent holes just like the top... What appears to be a fan inside on the bottom i think is a reflection of the GPU fan, and that is the PSU. The fact that its raised up suggests air intake on the bottom. Now it may just be intake for the top exhaust fans and intake for stock cooling GPU's, or it may suggest the PSU has an intake fan on the bottom instead of at the rear like a normal 1U PSU.

According to bit-tech:

1. The 1U PSU is 500W and has a 80mm fan.
2. It can fit 2 2.5" drives. I also read elsewhere it has a slot-load drive.
3. The roof has 2x 92mm fans
4. EVGA says it should ship in the next month or so.
5. They are working on making a version that's an inch or two taller that can fit a radiator, but that version will be out later this year.

I don't see anywhere on this model for a slim optical. Maybe that's why it only has dual 92mm fans on top, to fit an optical drive up there, but that front bezel doesn't seem to have a spot to insert a disk.

It may come stock with dual 92mm fans on top, but Im sure there is room for dual 120's. The only reason i can think to put smaller fans is if the larger ones were interfering with an optical or hard drive bay. The tweak town article says the one at computex has dual 120's up top.

Good news on the PSU, worst case scenario we have to swap it out with a quieter 80mm fan.

I just found a video of this case. Unfortunatley it doesn't reveal anything more than the pictures we've seen so far http://hexus.net/tech/news/systems/56397-evga-introduces-minibox-chassis/

edit: i just found this pic which shows the internals:

and another video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw6qOJVDP4w

Now that we know the name, evga minibox, it's easier to find stuff :)

Also, in the last youtube video jacob confirms it uses dual 120mm fans in the top.

Hmm, I'm a bit concerned about the airflow, since it has no cool air coming in.

Also it sounded like they were planning of an integrated radiator for the WC version, but I'd rather prefer using my h220.

Nothing says those top fans have to be exhaust.

A for effort?

If it does use a 1U form factor but with an 80mm fan, it is non-standard meaning you can't do 3rd party replacements unless you mod. Kind of like the FlexATX-like PSU of the Antec ISK 300/310-150.

Looks as if there are intake vents around the bottom PSU area.

Shoot I need a mITX case. Seems like none of the ones I like are available.

That's a really nice case.
Smart with a 500w 1U PSU which hopefully is quiet with the 80mm fan.

Going to dream about the case until it'll be out.

A 1U server PSU would typically have a 40mm fan I believe. 1 U is about 1.75in

Well the fact that they replaced the standard 40mm fan with an 80mm fan in an attempt to make it quieter at least suggests that noise was a consideration when choosing a PSU fan.

Well looks like they either lied about the fan size, somehow made a mistake, or this image is of a previous design, but that fan on the back is a 40mm fan.

So, a "normal" 1U PSU.

It looks so cute, but I doubt I would ever find a PSU replacement for an accessible price, if ever need one, in my country... ;_;

To bad. I had my hopes up about a side mounted larger fan.
A 40mm fan is just not interesting.

What they should do is put a SFX PSU in the front (front intake, side exhaust) with room for a 240 rad on both the top/bottom. And give the option of laying it down on its side.

Love the look of it, but yeah - similar reservations. A custom PSU that if it ever goes bad...then what?

In the videos the Asus rep makes a point of how quiet it is, so even with that small fan it may still have a low noise profile, but custom PSU+slot-load slim drive, I'm guessing the price will at least be in the $200 range.

If it was ~$120 or so then I would take a gamble on it, that's not reflective of what I think it should cost as considering its design that's wishful thinking, but just if I was going to take a chance on a DIY case with critical custom components that's as much as I'd be willing to risk.

Is the front glass or just a high-gloss plastic?

If it's glass...interesting. If it's plastic, it's kind of a non-starter.

It is supposed to be a 1U PSU, which is standardized. For instance you can replace it with a Seasonic 500W 80Plus Gold 1U PSU. Come to think of it, sounds as if that's what it comes with already, especially if they say it is reasonably quiet. I have a Seasonic Flex ATX PSU (a "short" 1U) with a 40mm fan and it is pretty quiet.

Looks pretty cool, but does barebones means it includes the board like with shuttle cases?

EVGA seemed to imply in the videos that they were not going to sell it with the motherboard, only the PSU.

Anyone seen mention of dimensions for this case from Computex 2013? Just to compare against SG05 and Ncase M1 for my future build plan.
