MSI is showing off a 4.1GHz Haswell gaming laptop at Computex. With specs like this, battery life will probably be about 45 seconds. ;)

At the heart of this machine is an Intel Core i7 (Haswell) processor, which is overclocked up to 4.1GHz by the company. Other distinctions include an Nvidia Geforce GTX765M GPU, as well as dual-SSD (in RAID 0 configuration) and 16GB RAM. The GT70 can support up to 32GB of RAM. Besides gaming, the GS70 is also targeted at professionals who need workstation-class performance on-the-go.

I have the GT60 and the battery life ain't bad, it's about 3 hours since the laptop goes into a super low power state when unplugged, so don't bother trying to play games without plugging it in.

Sounds pretty awful/useless.

That isn't even safe for your lap at that point, should be called a gaming Notebook, maybe supply a big cardboard lap pad like those pillocks that burn themselves with hot coffee.

Fire up IBT and you can grill hamburgers on it because of the heat, right?

It's kind of interesting, but I don't really see much of a point in something like this over just any other laptop. Games aren't worth the price of a nice car to play.

Sadly most workstation look better than this. I don't believe anyone actually likes such designs.

Bah! Still waiting for any kind of laptop to replace my aging 20.1" 1920x1200 current laptop.
Specs like these is fine. But I want a bigger screen than 17 something ". Preferably larger than my current 20.1" and with higher resolution.

Probably based on this CPU: http://ark.intel.com/products/75133 and 4.1GHz isn't much of an overclock, just 200MHz.

Certainly not made for battery powered gaming:
When the power consumed is below 180W or the battery level is below 30%, the Hybrid Power software and hardware functions of NOS OV system will automatically shut down battery power supply for the power supply to aliment the notebook and charge the battery at the same time.

engrish :D

If the laptop could sustain 160W power draw, an 85W-Hr battery would last about 30 minutes. In regular, non-gaming use it's probably competitive with other existing models and should last over 3 hours.

Built-in 15-17" when lugging around, extermal 27" 1440p when at home? I mean, would a 27" for a laptop do it for you, or do you need something bigger?

:p
