Heavily Discounted Reconditioned Vitamix Blenders + Free Shipping

Same. My first job was 3 months at Jamba Juice. So I know most of their recipes. The rest I can think up from the ingredients or just watching.

A few hints - buy FRESH fruit, it's often cheaper than it is to buy the frozen stuff. You can freeze it yourself with ziplocks. Same goes for Chicken.

If you've been to Fry's cafe, they have an awesome smoothie called "Blue Hawaiian". I made a recipe that tastes pretty close to it.

- .5 Cup Blueberries
- 1-2 Bananas (depends)
- Std. Shot glass of coconut water
- .5 to 1 Cup of Pineapple Juice
- 1 Scoop of Vanilla Fat Free or Slow Churned Ice Cream
- Ice

Protein powder if I'm working out.

That sounds good. I am going to try that haha.

I have a 5200s from costco for $380 new. I get the frozen mixed berries, bananas, apples, oranges, and baby spinach. Not really into bananas, so may replace them with grapes.

Any one of the above I cannot EAT without vomiting, serious texture issue with fruits and vegetables. However, throw it all in the 5200s. I can down two glasses no problem. It is literally the only way I can get fruits and vegetables in my system.

I tried putting in strawberry whey protien poweder in there. It made it taste like vomit. There any non-dairy based protien powders you can add in there?

Yeah I tried whey and it tasted horrible mixed with my green smoothie. I highly recommend hemp protein as it is much better than whey health wise and has no added junk whey has along with not tasting much different.

The big bags of baby kale at Costco are also a nice addition to any smoothie. As is peanut butter! And Fage! Almond milk! Just throwing some ideas out there - you can't go wrong...

Bought my refurbished vitamix 3-4 months ago and use it 5-7 times a week. I love it!

Best smoothie I made so far is as follows:

2 cups milk (or almond milk)
2 cups mangos (I used frozen)
1 banana
1/2 avocado
2 tbsp flaxseed
4 handfuls of kale

delicious!

Just received my Vitamix today.

Very excited to use it.

For those who think its costs too much... I think a Nvida 780 and Titan costs too much yet there are users who SLI and TRI sli those cards.

All about preference.

waiting for pro 300 to be available... i want the wider base for easier clean up.

1.) The blender is much lighter which makes it go all over the place when its on and I have to hold it down when using it.
2.) It doesn't blend ice nearly as well as the Vitamix unless you spend another $100 on a separate jar that doesnt originally come with it.
3.) You cannot fill the Blendtec up to the lid otherwise the lid will pop off and the contents inside will fly all over the place. With the vitamix's secure lid I never have that issue.
Got a Blendtec here and agree with others that say they haven't run into any of these issues at all either. Also was around $100 cheaper than the Vitamix brand new + had a 7yr warranty. Used it every day for the last 2-3yr now with out issue.

Only thing I dislike about the Blendtec is the sheer noise of the thing. Putting it on a towel or large mouse pad dampens that noise reasonably well though.

Vitamix isn't a bad blender, just not worth the hype or money brand new vs what Blendtec offers. Deal seems decent enough to me with a warranty I guess.

Exactly although this one can change your health for the better lol.

My favorite part about [H] is all the random people who are esoteric experts on just about anything from mens dress shoes to blenders.

Is your shoe Goodyear welted or Blake construction? Shoe experts would like to know.

Thanks for the link and I'm glad people find joy in them, but it's still hard for me to believe a $500 blender is that much better than my Oster with one freaking toggle switch. It does everything I've ever needed it to and I think it was made circa 1980. A new one can be bought for around $80. It blends all foods to a pulp and finely shreds ice for frozen cocktails. The only thing I've done to it is sharpen the blades.

I'd rather have a new chef's knife over a blender any day.

I felt the same way until I went to a friends house who had one. I was sold right after I witnessed one myself.

I thought the same thing about coffee / espresso machines until I bought a mid-grade (or more accurately, low-end of the high-end) espresso machine + grinder as well. Completely different taste. I dream of getting one of the crazy custom made ones with specific pressure and temperature settings out of seattle, but alas I don't have $30k lying around.

That pretty much sums me up lol. Chef, [H]ard, and spiffy outfits (always getting compliments when I suit up with my Ferragamo Moccasins).

I've seen numerous exclamations like "Best investment ever", "Changed my life", "OMG, incredible", et al., but I still have yet to see why exactly these two blenders are so incredible, and specifically, over an ~$80 blender like rkatapt mentions below.

I'm not rollin' on the troll or anything, as I'm actually considering getting one of these, but I still haven't found ample economic justification for them over any other $200-400 cheaper blender.

What specifically do the Vitamix and Blendtechs do over an ~$80 Oster or Cuisinart?

But what exactly did you witness? A Christmas miracle?

;)

I'm left to deduce that it must be some sort of spiritual experience, because I haven't found much evidence of tangible benefits otherwise.

Whats so hard to understand? You put whole things in (saves on prep time) and it blends them into a velvety texture that allows you to replicate smoothies from chains like Jamba Juice, and make other concoctions with ease (yeah you can do crazy stuff like heat soup and make icecream but I just make smoothies and shakes).

Your paying for quality materials, reliability and ease of use, and to some extent programming if your into that kind of thing, but I just have a base model. The blades are sharper and move faster than a normal blender.

Similar to what the guy mentioned above, my espresso machine is $2500 and my grinder is $1800, while some people can get by with a $25 Mr. Coffee just fine (to me, after years of making espresso, that tastes like ashy dish water). But to someone who makes coffee drinks as a hobby or who enjoys the fine taste differences that putting the time and effort into making espresso at home it provides a completely different experience and taste.

If smoothies and other blended concoctions arnt your thing then your in the wrong thread. No ones trying to convince anyone into buying something they don't need. If you just want to see what its all about go to a store that has one and makes samples and try it. Its not going to pop out and wow you into saying WOAH I can totally see myself dropping hundreds of dollars on this, TAKE MY MONEY NOW! But, it will allow you to see why someone who is into these kinds of drinks would want to shell out for the best.

What was "so hard to understand" was the void of qualitative reasoning from this thread in support of the blender(s) that someone (you) has just now explained.

Thus, some concrete benefits over cheaper blenders I now gather:

1. Feature -- whole items can be put into Vitamix/Blendtechs, which isn't possible with ordinary blenders (range of ability, saves time)

2. Feature -- ability to heat soup and make ice cream

3. Feature -- sharper blades, faster motor

4. Texture -- able to mimic intricate food textures from retail places like Jamba Juice, which would be difficult/impossible with regular blenders

5. Quality -- sturdier, more reliable materials (I expected at least this much)

No need to get uppity now :) I wasn't trolling on the blenders or anyone involved. I'd just rather see a bit more tangible, qualitative support for an item than trusting it to the likes of an Apple user exclaiming "It just works!", metaphorically speaking ;)

(Disclaimer: Mad love and respect to Apple, its products, and its user base out there in the house tonight)

Your fried what? Chicken?

My "$$$ system" runs off the powdered dust of unicorn bones. That's what it can do.

ordered a red 7500 gen on 5/31 and literally just received the email that it was shipped. blending veggie/fruit shakes on a regular basis was one of the best dietary changes i've ever made.

also, as a tip to everyone: make sure to add some kind of fat to your shakes so your body can take advantage of the fat-soluble vitamins in the ingredients! coconut oil, olive oil, yogurt, etc. all work great.

the following has become my go-to after work shake:

1 handful of kale
1 handful of spinach
1 whole carrot
1 whole apple (cored)
1 handful of blueberries
1 handful of strawberries
1 handful of cherries
1 whole banana (no peel, haha)
a bit of fresh ginger
2 apricots
about 5oz of kefir (for fat content and probiotics)
about 5oz of cranberry juice
and a handful of ice to finish it off

Yogurt I think is the best for those fruit/veggie smoothies. Yum!

I have a Vitamix, and wanted another blender, but I like variety, so I went to get a BlendTec, but I didn't after I saw these two bits of information repeated:

(1) Complaints about it being able to blast contents past the lid while in place.
(2) No included tamper, so one has to stop, shake, start, stop, shake, start ...

Given Costco has these two blenders just $15 apart, I don't see why one would choose BlendTec. (Or did, the sale may have ended 6/16.)

I bought the blendtec since that's what they had and it had a more powerful motor at that time. I have blown the top off with frozen strawberries so the Vitamix clamp is useful (what a horrible mess). I got the wider 'Wildside' pitcher and I don't ever really have to shake the contents, everything gets sucked into the smoothie vortex.

The Vitamix/Blentec/Waring class of high powered blenders are something I resisted for a long time but after buying one I regretted waiting.

I didn't think there would be a suicide version of a smoothie...I was wrong.

I have owned both the vitamix and blendtec.

The blendtec actually died on us and we had to have it replaced, vitamix is going on 7 years and no issues. Since the blendtec died, we now only have the vitamix 5200 and a commercial vitamix.

The blendtec is easier to use when you first start, as mentioned push a button and walk away. However what are people making that they need to walk away? These blenders take care of everything in seconds. My main use is smoothies (best one is frozen grapes, and a slice of lemon). For smoothies, the tamper is a life saver which the blendtec doesnt provide. For making nut milks and raw ice creams, a manual version is better then push a button version. They both work great, you wont be disappointed with either of them.

Are people getting free shipping from vitamix? I probably have some codes for people, just pm me if needed.

What's the best recipe of fruits & vegetables to put in a Vitamix for overclocking your brain?

I use something along the lines of:

1 cup yogurt
1 banana
1 handful of spinach
2 big kale leaves
1 normal sized carrot
1 apple
1 handful of your favorite berries
1 tray of ice
1 cup of water

makes slightly more than 2 full glasses of a great tasting nutritious smoothie in the morning which I make for me and my gf.

Banana, Almond Milk, and Matcha Smoothie is the best
1 banana
half a cup of almond milk
half a cup of filtered water OR substitute with almond milk
5 large ice cubes, or more if needed
half a teaspoon of organic matcha green tea

Here is my magic mix :)

2 kale leaves
1 banana
3/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 scoop protein powder
1 tbsp hemp seeds
2 tbsp chia seeds
Some coconut milk
1 avocado

I blend that together which gives it milkshaky consistency then I mix in dried goji berries and granola. It's delicious and keeps me full into the early afternoon. I'm 6'3 225lb's by the way...
