Post Your Workstations 2013

My Home office for the time being, until I get a new Place.

13+-+1

Ready to enjoy the single life, well other than living in parents basement till I find a new Place.

Anyway, surely painting it would reduce the absorbency of noise?

Probably, but my main motivation was "This will look cool!" Again, I'm no audiophile - I have less than $600 invested in my entire sound system, and I've seen some of you guys drop that on just a pair of headphones.

If the paint effecting the absorbency of sound is a deal breaker, you could always hang unpainted cardboard on your wall and look like a crazy person ;)

New house, new pic.

One thing moving has shown, as is evidenced by the pic, is that I have accumulated entirely too much crap.

Same thing I said when I first moved to a new location :D We do accumulate crap & we never really know until one moves out.

http://mioculture.com/acoustic-weave-paperforms.html

They're actually just cardboard / heavy paper stock. At that link, there are a lot of other styles, but none mention any acoustic benefits like the ones I linked. I'm no audiophile, but this had higher "Wife Acceptance" than actual foam sound deadening. Plus, we got to paint it and choose a pattern for it, so it's "custom" ;)
LMAO! "Wife Acceptance" I know the feeling! :D
Thanx for the info!

Well, it was inevitable. I am an nVidia surround user. Next up is some beefier GPUs for these triple U3011s. I ordered a triple monitor stand so I don't have the furthest left monitor hanging off the desk. Should be here next week.

Looking good myelin1! Grats on the new house, I saw your post in the mancave thread too.

But do you know what would really make that office nice?
A lava lamp or two.

:p

Here is my "workstation" at home. I actually do some work from home, though.

This is my workstation at home these days. Lots of frantic redesigning right now, which means late nights for me after the baby goes to sleep. A little SG Atlantis in the back ground and the meat of the SW modeling done on the laptop.

All that tech....and then there's the phone. Totally out of place :p

lol. I work for the state commuter railroad and the governor is starving us. BTW, I had to buy two of those monitors. Believe it or not, we just moved to Windows 7 32bit from XP. The iPad and laptop are mine too.

New Ikea desk - $50 total for top, legs, cable thingy and the automotive like high-gloss white! Sometimes you can't beat disposable furniture. I think it looks great with the Thinkpad keyboard :)

Ouch 32-bit ? What the hell.

I finally got most everything hooked back up. I still need to get the DOS Box wired up since putting it on it's own desk. I'm also going to be overhauling the entertainment system soon. Damn you Ikea!

What kind of desk is that?
