Alright, budget is now shoestring thin, here is what I need a card to do, tell me what can do it (that isn't obvious, titan, 7990, etc)

I need a card, to run pretty much any game in existance and in the next year or so, at 1080p, with moderate-high settings (don't need to ultra it all) at at LEAST 60fps.

Not opposed to used at all, I just need to get something that will run it all until probably next year when the new stuff is out.

Red, Green, don't care as long as it's affordable.

Thanks,

~Rich

those are the 2 I was thinking, just didn't know if an older card would do it that I wasn't aware of from being out of the loop a while

As cheap as I can get away with while meeting those requirements.

In that case, it depends on the game.

If you're playing Battlefield 3, you can get away with a GTX 660/ Ti.

But if you're playing Crysis 3, you should get a GTX 670.

Do you see what I mean?

I do game commentary and reviews, why it said every game lol, I play about 40 games a month, from indie side scrollers to AAA eye candy, needs to be 60FPS so I know I can maintain at least 30 while recording with Dxtory.

Okee. Then, like I said, you'll need a minimum of a GTX 670.

You can get it on eBay for around 300$ or on Newegg for around 370$.

In my opinion, only suckers buy retail.

Then recommend a GTX 670. He wants to play any game in existence, and a 660ti will struggle with plenty of games when attempting to get 60 frame rates. ArmA 3 (still Alpha so hard to gauge), Crysis 3 come to mind.

Doesn't the 7950 beat the 670 in most games and cost less?

Remember, eye candy does not have to be cranked to the max, and I play at 1080 single 23"

in fact no.... you mean 660TI vs 7950? yes the 7950 beat the 660TI in many games.. in others the 660TI perform better.. not mention a 670 u should get the point..

Do all the research you want, but the bottom line is that nothing beats the 7950 value wise. If you pick anything else it's because you want higher end or lower budget, it really does depends on how much you're willing to spend.

If you're not opposed to an older gen card, remember that a GTX570 sits between the 660 & 660ti performance wise so it may be worth checking around to see if you can get a deal on one of those.

edit: just noticed I missed your need to record as you play, I'd say go with a 670 then.

If your budget is tight and urgency is not an issue I would consider waiting for the 760ti. It is speculated to be essentially a GTX 670 rebranded to launch at the $300 MSRP price point later next month. Even if you do not end up buying one it could put pressure on GTX 670, 660ti and 7950 prices.

I would however be very reluctant to buy a GTX 670 at this point due to this unless it were urgent. As you will get a very slightly better version at a much cheaper price with the 760ti.

With budget constraints such as yours I would browse the classified section on the forums. I have seen 7970's and 680's anywhere between 300-350$. Lots of manufacturers will even extend the warranty to a 2nd party buyer (Gigabyte, XFX, and Asus come to mind) and for the money/value/performance those can't be beat.

Even less expensive are other options that where already mentioned: 7950, 670, 660/ti etc.

OP has yet to give any [H] budget numbers, or examples of games, other then, "all of them for the next year", so I'm going to suggest you wait and get a GTX770.

id consider 780. not trying to be rude but you dont wanna shoot laggy gameplay videos..

or if budget really important 7950 - which is half the perf and price of 780. (both overclock well with aftermarket coolers)

Well, just said screw it and ran up the CC a bit more, NCIX has the Powercolor 7970 for $329 AR and free shipping everyone says voltage is unlocked as well on it.
