Steam Weekend Deal: Borderlands 2 for $13

My backlog is so big I think I'll wait until it hits 5$ which it eventually will.
 
The hell? This is not a great deal. There are sites selling this for $11 right now, and like Vicinity already said this has been on GMG for $10 more than once.

it been this price or cheaper plenty of times from other places and it REQUIRES Steam no matter where you buy it. ;)

Well, to be fair to Gearbox, they weren't the one who made the game, they had someone else (Timegate) made the game and that company have since filed for bankruptcy.

Of course Gearbox is party responsible for it, but I don't think it reflect's Gearbox's ability to develop a game at least on the technical side.

who originally developed the game has nothing to do with the issue. the issue is that Gearbox showed off a gameplay video that looked WAY better and played a little different than the game that actually shipped. even the pc version is no where close to the visuals seen in the gameplay video. they accepted pre orders after that time as many people based their at least some of their exceptions on the gameplay footage shown. the fact that Gearbox cant own up to that and admit it was a bad move is pretty shitty of them.

Have to agree. BL 1 was one of my most played games ever, including most MMOs. I still haven't purchased BL2, and would think about getting it, but no dlc is actually on sale at this point, so I'm gonna wait. I already waited this long, what's another year. And if I happen to die before then, oh, well. I won't care then.
 
There are too many good games out there on Zynga to pay any money for generic, boring shooters like this.
 
The way Gearbox handled the whole Alien:CM thing means I'm done with them. They bullshit their way through development of the game (whether they made it or not isn't relevant) and continue to bullshit and claim innocence to this very day.

Eh, I picked BL2 up finally. Mainly because my brother wanted to play co-op on there. Figure for $13 it's worth a shot.
I never had any interest in A:CM, so whatever screwups happened there didn't effect me any. Sucks for everyone who got screwed on that, but I appreciate the posts, they kept me away from throwing money away there.
 
never finished the first game, would feel guilty buying the second and not playing that either lol

Running around shooting things is pretty well-baked at this point. Using silly names for weapons and character classes might be somewhat less common since there aren't too many games that do it (BFG-9000), but yeah its old and overdone, competing with Bejeweled clones for the number of companies that have been there and done that.
