Seagate 2TB USB 3.0 External $64

In for 1, thanks OP! I'd been looking for a good deal on a hard drive, and this definitely fits. :)

EDIT, Not OOS, the OP link is OOS, but the link from Verass is in stock.

Mine came in yesterday and is working great as a backup drive.

Not really. Verass' link says "Shipping not available"...and if you do a store search, it is YMMV for In-Store Pickup. Every single one within 30 miles of me doesn't have it.

Got the first one I ordered today, the second one is scheduled to arrive Tuesday. :D

Sweeeeeet!

mine is working good. shareport on my 655 dlink.
I got the shae port software installed and backing up family pcs now.

Got mine, busted it out of the case and moved steam/origin games to it. So now I got the box with all the stock crap I don't need or want lol.

What speed drive is in this thing? And is the case one of those external cases with the inside latches you can pry apart or hidden screws?

I'd have to check.

It pops open then inside there is a metal tray that comes out, remove the stick on rubber boots and then remove the screws. There is also a base that the drive snaps into.

Yep I am also interested in knowing what speed drive it is before cracking it open as well.

I believe it's a 5900RPM drive... probably the ST2000DL003 aka the 'Barracuda Green' series 2TB drive.

<EDIT>

I'm WRONG on the intarwebs! Nightcast popped his open and it's actually a 7200RPM Barracuda (ST2000DM001) complete with 64mb cache. SUH...WEEET!

Edited my earlier post giving the wrong info, I had done some googling and everything I read said the 2TB FreeAgent Desk was a 5900RPM Green drive... I apologize if I mislead anyone with that mistaken info.

Never have I been so happy to be WROOOONG. :D

You gotta install the Seagate desktop tools to make this enclosure power down at idle. The three lines next to the power light at the bottom act as a meter to show how much space is used.

I ripped the 2tb drive out and replaced it with a 1tb Seagate drive in mine.

I don't think Buy.com treats their eBay customers any different, anyway they have 99.7% positive feedback so you're probably good.
