Odd but the thread was dead and probably would have remained so. So, you were saying?

Yep...SO why do they have to pay taxes?
Hmmmm...People have told me that being agnostic is just a cop-out, I say it is the closest to rationality. No offense intended...just sayin'.
The difference between science and religion is simple. Scientists don't cling onto theories which have been proven wrong. Science has made many false assumptions over the centuries but as more knowledge comes to light the thinking shifts to accept what can be tested and proven. Religion still clings onto the old doctrine and refuses to change.
The bible places the Earth age as around 6000 years... This has been confirmed false and humanity itself has existed for far longer. Science is open to new ideas, religion is not.
Not quite true, there have been reforms in religions. Mainly christianity. I don't believe the bible ever explicitly says anything about the age of earth. It was people reading too much or too little into the book and making assumptions. Also,I doubt you'd meet many, the Pope including, would not say that the Earth is flat.
The bible to explicitly say that the earth was created in Six days though. After that, the age of certain people is known and the age of the earth can be estimated from that.

It would be better to stop guessing at the validity of the bible and just admit it's all complete utter bullshit.
Technically it's the "invisible pink unicorn."
