Geforce 770 & 780 coming in May

I doubt a GTX Titan Ultra, the yields would be crappy, that's why they disable one of the cores.

It sounds like it's unclear whether the Titan LE and the 780 are the same card.

I presume that if it is two different models, then the 780 has most of the Titan compute power neutered.

As interesting as it is, I have no real use for it so I'd rather not pay for it.

This is all my fault. I waited to upgrade my old 5870 but after the rumors nothing new was coming out this year I went ahead and got a GTX670. Should've known the very fucking instant I bought it, the new cards would come out. I'm not kidding either. I bought this thing like a couple weeks ago. God hates me. :(

Just skip this upcoming gen, no need to buy every new card that comes out :)

Will be good for me. I'm still running a 560ti...

I feel your pain, I got 560 ti and barely waited out current gen . I nearly bought a 670 a few times and then almost bought 7970 GHz :D:D:D

Yeah I know but it'll bug the crap out of me that if I'd only waited 1 more month, I could've bought a GTX 770 for probably close to the same price as the 670. Oh well.

I kinda hope people start freaking out about this [upcoming] gen and start selling their current cards dirt cheap tho XD

The GTX 760ti looks like a GTX670. Same CUDA core count, 256bit, 2GB of RAM. Maybe it will be clocked higher?

I might hold out for May release and see what the Titan Ultra is all about and maybe bite on a Titan price drop. Highly doubt that my Shuttle XPC SZ77R5 will be able to handle a Titan Ultra, but I know it can handle a Titan.

You have a 670ftw.. which is essentially a 680.. so try not to be too bummed.
You only lost on 2gigs of ram.

I also just got a 670, I am more pissed about the 760ti.. which is a 670 for $300.. that annoys me. BUT the 760ti is suppose to be faster than the 660ti..so I suspect it will run nearly as fast as a 670.

That would suck balls for current Titan owners, if true.

Early adopters. 'nuff said. Especially with bleeding-edge tech.

Intel QX6700 system with 8800 Ultra SLI? Heheh. There's nothing smart about paying a grand for a video card unless you want great performance NOW.

I seriously doubt anything regarding a Titan Ultra. The other cards yeah makes sense.

Chip base || Shader Units || TMU || ROP || Memory size || Memory Bus width

GTX Titan "Ultra" (GK110 chip fully enabled) "$999+"
GK110, 2880, 256, 48, 6GB, 384bit
GTX Titan "$799" (down from $999+ of now)
GK110, 2688, 240, 48, 6GB, 384bit
GTX Titan "LE" "$599-699"
GK110, 2496, 208, 40, 5GB, 320bit
GTX 780 (same specs as the LE above) "$499-599"
GK110, 2496, 208, 40, 5GB, 320bit
GTX 770 (rebadged GTX 680 w/4gb of ram?... gpu shrink?) "$399"
GK104-425, 1536, 128, 32, 4GB, 256bit
GTX 760 ti (rebadged GTX 670) "$299"

"gpu shrink?"

there is nothing to shrink to for the rest of the year

I wouldn't say it's outside the realm of possibility... what else are they going to do with the (few) chips that make it with all SMX clusters intact? A limited "Ultra" sounds like it could happen, shoving the Titan down to $799ish and a "titan le"-based GTX 780 @ $499-599.

"Our sources claim that the card should end up about 30 present faster than the GTX 680"

From the HardOCP Titan review:
Far Cry 3: Titan 34.4% faster than GTX 680
Hitman Absolution: Titan 57% faster than GTX 680
Sleeping Dogs: Titan 41% faster than GTX 680
Max Payne 3: Titan 43% faster than GTX 680
Battlefield 3 Multiplayer: Titan 44% faster than GTX 680
(Note: these are with driver versions 314.09 on Titan and 314.07 on GTX 680)

So the Titan is essentially the modern day version of the 8800 Ultra, except that the Titan was released before the GTX 780 while the 8800 Ultra was released after the 8800 GTX?

No, it's quite clear: the GPU is named Titan LE, and the card is named GTX 780, meaning the GTX 780 card has the Titan LE chip on it. From the article:

"The chip is actually slower than Titan and is internally called Titan LE, which means that GTX 780 should end up slower than Titan cards"

But Swed just list a 3GB 780.

I wonder which is right. Kyle said some info was in accurate, and that was the 5GB info I posted.

I don't know how you'd have 3GB on a 320-bit card without the same shenanigans they had to pull on the 660 Ti cards. It would seem like 2.5GB was the better choice. And if it was 3GB, you'd have a base model 770 that had more VRAM than the 780, which also seems unlikely. I'm skeptical of the whole rumored line-up, but I really doubt they'll have a 3GB GTX 780 based on the specs in current rumors.

True dat (a little gangsta lingo there). Considering I'm only gaming at 1920x1080 and don't see myself going any higher until those 2560x1600 30" monitors drop down to the $500 range, I should be good a for few years. Still though, I want new stuff! :D

Yeah, for 1920x1080 I don't really think you need a whole lot (for 60hz/non-3d) comparatively :). I've been running 2560x1600 for nearly four and a half years now, though... so a GTX 780 "titan le" would be a welcome upgrade. I bought my 3007wfp-hc for $680 with a 5-year warranty from Dell back then, and just recently had it replaced under warranty with a U3011 (nice free upgrade!) due to some red/green dot flickering issues that were intermittent. I've seen similar deals over the years... highly recommend watching for them in general if you're interested in a high-res panel. I don't think until we see 4k displays as a more commonplace thing that these will hit $500 any time soon...

no thanks, I am going to wait until consoles come out.

those who will be buying the 780's, get the 5gb model because next-gen consoles will be using around 6gb Vram.

Wow, flamebate incoming! Wrong thing to post in the video card section.

Even if there is no Ultra, this could mean price cut for the Titan, and I can afford to wait for that.

$500-600 and 30% faster than 680? That's like 10-15% slower than a Titan. If I bought a Titan I would not be a happy camper right now.

Over 2 months ago I sold my msi 680 4gb thinking new cards would be out this summer. Then the Titan was announced which lead me to believe new cards wouldn't come out, so a month and a half after selling my 680 I bought a galaxy 670 4gb for 460$ after tax. I knew I should have waited.

I was lucky, my waiting was financially motivated. I have to admit, I am sick of my GTX480 acting like a space heater, especially after the last few days we have had some really warm weather.

I won't lie, I had a really good laugh from this post. I am so sorry lol.
So we get new Nvidia cards in May, and new AMD cards in 2014? Interesting.

It would be awesome if some enthusiast oriented website gave away next-gen cards the day of launch.

I have had my 7950 since around launch. I tend to prefer single card solutions but at 2560x1600 I really would appreciate some of the additional horsepower a 780 might be able to provide. Patiently waiting for additional news.......

Glad I didn't pick up the 670.Will wait and see if the 770 will be worth it. Happily expecting a price drop in 670

So I could get two 780's for around the cost of a Titan and get way better performance?
and? you can get gtx660 ti sli for the same price of a single gtx680 and have faster performance. the top of the line cards have always had poor value and with Titan it is a joke.

I'm thinking more about just how much better two 780's could be, if they are actually around 10% slower than the Titan. That would just be crazy.

Titan is for people who want the best of the best and can afford it. Only a joke to people who don't fit that category.

Now it depends on the outputs. I'll dump my 680 (served me well) for 2 780's if it will indeed run 3 1080p 120Hz 3d monitors (the last 2 arrived yesterday) with dual link DVI...

Just curious why it has to be dual link DVI? Doesn't display port do the same thing?

Not sure of the specs of displayport. But I don't think my monitors have an input for it (unless I can get an adapter), and I believe to get 120Hz I requre Dual Link DVI. Time will tell though...

What 120hz are you using?
