What i have:
black prodigy
2x 4gb Corsair 1600 vengence 1.5
MSI 580 1.5gb lighting
1tb storage
128ssd
corsair H100 p/p config

im on a super budget as most of the FS/WTB thread knows. My fiance is due on the 27th and the baby is going to come ANY day now.

Im looking @ going to microcenter on friday and get the following.

i5-3570k Is a link really needed here?
Asrock h77 mitx : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2#scrollFullInfo
The both of these together @ MC is 250 bucks. I cant afford a z77 stinger other wise i would get it. I read from some sites your cant Overclock with this card, but some people say you can. im kinda confused.

And im going to scoop up one of these PSU's from g0dm@n this weekend. he lives down the road it turns out lol! im trading for this so no cost to me.
OCZ elitexstreme 800watt: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...a&cm_sp=&AID=10440897&PID=3891137&SID=rewrite

I don't like your PSU selection. OCZ power supplies are generally bad choices, and that particular model appears to be over three years old. I don't trust it as a long-term option. (But without knowing your budget, I can't offer you any acceptable alternatives.)

You can't overclock with an H77 motherboard. Technically, the i5-3570K is capable of overclocking an additional 400MHz on its own due to Turbo Boost, but you otherwise can't take advantage of the processor's unlocked CPU multiplier without using a Z77 motherboard.

oh really =[!!! and the im not the biggest fan of the OCZ either. but im getting it in a bargin deal. so not spending a dime towards it brand new.

and for the mobo, on new egg and microcenter reviews shows that people do over clock, guess they just dont know what they are talking about then? thats a bummer cause im a over clocker :/

Just because you're getting that OCZ for no cash still doesn't mean you should use it. Considering how much power your 580 will take up and your plans for overclocking, I would spend money to get a known good quality PSU. If you can't afford a new PSu, then don't bother doing the build then as that OCZ is not worth trusting.

Whoever said they can overclock with the H77 doesn't know what they're talking about.

This man speaks the truth. There are various better cheap options other than OCZ shop around and see if you find something.

Really? After reading all of the NewEgg reviews about the board, I only found one comment that mentioned overclocking -- but the reviewer never mentioned how well it overclocked.

At Micro Center, only one out of the four reviews for the board mentioned overclocking. Again, there were no details on its overclocking capability.

I also checked Amazon... guess what? Four reviews, with nothing about overclocking.

Whoever told you that particular board could overclock was selling you a bill of goods.
