Intel NUC - Core i5 and i7

The fact that the "Rend Lake" will not include a power adapter of any kind (not just the AC cord) makes me believe that this is probably made up BS. And then the Skull Canyon will not have either thunderbolt or ethernet, but rather a mini-displayport pretty much confirms that it is BS in my mind. That's just my opinion.

Why wait? Just remember, Intel is getting out of the desktop mobo market and NUC is going to be their focus. They have some cool stuff planned for down the road, so buy now and buy later :D

I'd say within the next couple weeks. The unit we received did have the same "includes" as the currently available i3 units, so there was a power adapter in the box with no power cord. I dont know if what we received was the final packaging, but I would expect the final pprodcut to include the power adapter as well (initial info/reports said no power adapter so changes can and do happen).

Starting to see them get SKU'd up in places so it should be right around the corner. Very nice unit by the way.

Do you have a guess as to the price(s)?

Gah, 1x USB 3.0 and DP 1.1a... can't wait until the i7 version pops!

At this point, I'll wait for the rumored Haswell BGA "-R" NUC with HD5200

nice, onboard sata will be useful for HTPC types who don't have NAS/wireless bridges.
I am actually wondering if the new case design supports an additional sata drive.

Can't tell from these pictures.

You can zoom in pretty far on the bottom image. None of those cases had esata as far as I could see. Enough USB3.0 to do the trick though!

It's not esata that we are talking about. There actually is an on board sata with sata power. I read somewhere that there haven't been an enclosure yet for it. I wish there could be one with a 2.5" bay/tray. Maybe this ought to be my first 3d printing project.

I just realized what intel's intent is for the on board sata, optical drives...

Maybe it is like silverstone's nuc?
The Sata is actually a hot-swapable bay sort of thing, you just pop the top cover a bit and it is there. So when you plug in 2.5 sata drive in it, the drive will be popping out.
Slick/Luke showed it in LTT coverage of Computex.

Any firm shipping date on these yet? I'm itching to build one with Ubuntu on it. I'd also like to find a combo AC and Bluetooth LE combo card, that I'm pretty sure doesn't exist yet.
