So I have a small budget of about 5k.
I am looking for a 10gbe switch. I know 5k ain't enough but maybe I can find something on fleebay.
SFP or Copper would be nice. I will be using this for a SAN not a data network. Any recommendations?
Something with good Warranty would be nice. I am a Huge HP fan.

Dell 8024 (or 8024F) can be had for about that much with warranty if you shop around on eBay.

Some of the cisco 3750 can be bought cheaply on ebay and there are some that you can use with a 10G module (if you only need 1 or 2 ports)

Is this only for connecting your SAN to some servers? If so have you considered fibre channel instead? It can be cheaper and faster depending on how you go.

If you must use ethernet physically how close are the boxes? You could look into using a cx4 cable instead of utp or fiber cabling. The cables are thicker and less flexible but the switches can be had cheap on ebay if you know what to look for. You can usually find Woven switches with 48 gigabit ports + 4 10G ports on ebay for less than $1000.
