So I have a H67S which has a bios option for Intel ME ver 8 and I can't exactly find out what to do with it.

I have a chip that supports vPro, but is AMT supported by the H67?

I would like to know this as well. If I don't install the ME driver then I get an error in device manager. Some one enlighten us!

It's part of the chipset function that facilitates communication between the chipset and your hardware. It is indeed important, get the latest from your board manuf. and install it.

IME is used by two rather important features on Intel current-generation chipsets - Rapid Storage and Smart Response Technologies. (IME = Intel Management Engine) While MOST useful for SSDs, faster mechanical hard drives and hybrid drives also make use of it. While technically it's a driver, it installs like a utility (it's NOT included with the Intel INF packages for any version of Windows). UNfortunately, no LGA775 chipset can make use of IME.

Intel Management Engine (and the Intel Management Engine Firmware) "allows remote
access over a LAN for IT admin / repair purposes even when the system is powered down." If you're not a corporation, this is almost certainly of no interest to you, in which case there is no reason to install it.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct. You don't need it unless you want those features.

Any good links on IME related failed overclock? Google doesn't find much with my attempts and I suddenly started having failed overclock restarts on my p67pro that I can't track down. I run all stock clocks...
