I decided to ditch my Lumia 920 and pick up an iPhone 5. Trying to find a good case for it. Any recommendations?

What kind of style do you prefer? Lovely? Cartoon? Rural? Cool? stylish? or what?
And which price do you like?

More practical. Smaller, non-obtrusive but still will protect the phone. My biggest need is that the case can't prevent a stereo cable from being plugged in. A lot of cases crowd the jack causing a lot of problems.

Otterbox!! I thought it was a hyped up marketing gimmicky cover, but a friend of mine had one on her iPhone 4s.. She literally threw it across the bar, onto a concrete floor... I bought one for my galaxy that night. Haha

So for my iPhone 5 I use Ivyskin (www.ivyskin.com). Used it on my iPhone 4 too. Great case and gives you a piece of glass that goes over the iPhone glass....Very protective.

A little hard to get a hold of them if you need them...but they have never let me down.

My friend uses LifeProof (www.lifeproof.com). Seems just as protective as Ivyskin, plus waterproof.

I think you can't go wrong with either...not cheap, but you get good protection.

One of the Ivyskin protectors looks interesting. It's another pane of glass for the front to protect the screen and a plastic protector for the back to prevent scuff marks. That's really all I want a case for. Though, that wouldn't really protect against drops...

Using this one. It works okay and doesn't really add any extra weight/size to the phone. I've dropped it a few times and the case did it's job but it's nowhere near as protective as an otterbox or lifeproof. It's nice too because it works with pretty much every 30-pin to lightning adapter. My old case had to be taken off to use them.

the ivyskin one i bought for 60.00 for my 4s was a POS it didnt even protect the buttons I will never buy from them again worthless company. I dont have a 5 but I have a ibatz case for my 4s looks like an ottorbox but has a 2450 ion battery in it as well, case was 50.00 used on amazon.

no case , got the phone a month ago and no wear . I couldnt find a case i liked

Some of you haves cases that will protect against being run over by a tank. I just want a case that will protect if I drop my phone and it lands on an edge. I dropped my 4S once and it landed on the upper right edge. The case took all the damage. It is thin little lightweight case...cost like $9.

Elementcase.com, pretty wicked cases and customizable. But pricey.

You have been fortunate for the past month. If you do anything other than sit in front of your monitors all day, don't expect that pretty phone to stay pretty for long ;)

I have a Speck Candyshell and it is in rough shape. No drops, but lots of scratches on the back from work.

I like that one. When I dropped my phone onto the concrete, the impact was right at the top on the curved/bend section. Do you feel this case gives protection there and at the other three similar points?

Yes it would prevent a nick there if it was dropped from a few feet. It would not do well in protecting from a large 5 foot fall or something (although it might be ok, it just depends). I mainly use it for protecting the back / corners in case of a minor fall or just daily wear and tear. I have a screen protector on front that protects from minor scratches from keys and whatnot. Overall, while you could go with a huge otterbox that would definitely protect you in case of a fall, I find they are just way too cumbersome and the trade off in terms of size / weight is worth it.

By the way I currently use:

and

http://www.amazon.com/elago-Slim-Fi...qid=1364181643&sr=1-1&keywords=elago+iphone+5

Best looking / most practical combo of case + screen protector I have found. (Be aware the screen protector is matte, which does reduce visibility and is not recommended for heavy gaming or whatnot, but in my opinion the anti fingerprint / matte finish is worth it)

What's with all these users who registered in the last 30 days posting in broken English?

I've noticed this too...very strange.

spammers more than likely....

If you look closely they usually post in threads dealing with cell phone accessories, etc...
give them some time and they'll start posting links to their webstore pushing their product
with BS recommendations
