Apple Blames Everyone Else For High Australian Prices

None of that matters, they aren't out for charity. They are out for profit and there is nothing wrong with that.

Want to make an article with some substance? Question the content makers about their license pricing difference, not the distributor. But wait, then apple isn't in the headline, so then what's the point if no one gives a shit enough to read it?

Keep putting apple in the headlines Steve, remember, there's no such thing as bad press.

I forgot to add, I DONT think there should be a pricing difference (beyond extra costs to transport and differences in taxes), but in this case, apple isn't the one to blame, the people that license the content are, apple is just in the headline to sell news.

All I can say is wow. You'd think there would be more informed people around here....

It's the same reason why prices for the same thing are higher around the world. Do you think the Japanese gamers like paying $80 for video games? How about someone looking to get a new video card in Germany who is on a budget and has to get a 7770 for what would be $200 US?

Taxes and import fees.

The rest of the world is "used" to paying more for everything compared to US. Companies do it because they can. Simple as that.

Greed, give me everything that I need. How you gon' deal with the [placehilder] that I feed?

They shouldn't mess with the Aussie's and Kiwi's.

The software I use to customize the OEM engine computers of Chevrolet and Dodge for competition comes from the Land Down Under.

There's a lot of serious hackers (the good kind) down there.

There are a variety of things that determine the price of the product, one is price points, theres a reason why games hover at certain points like $10, $30 $50 etc... Then there is what people can afford, but Australian dollar is close to the US dollar and the average income of Australians is similar to that of the US, so none of the price point issues and affordability issues should be that different. Unless someone can purpose another better explanation then it probably is taxes, tariffs etc, and I don't think its just VAT because VAT is not specific to imported items AFAIK.
