Screw newegg they just lost a $750 sale with me

I've never had a problem with newegg. In fact I have had multiple serious problems with amazon. I have received customer returns 3 times directly from amazon. One even had the previous customers rma label still attached to the box, they just slapped a shipping label on it and sent it to me.

I go where it is cheapest and so far it has always been newegg (i have a free shop runner so the shipping is free). I hit up amazon for text books though since I have prime and usually need them quick as I don't want to wait more than a day for the book to arrive since I need it for school.

I also don't like rewarding amazon because of its piss poor search. When I click sort by lowest prices I should not get the highest priced items first...

I completely agree with you.
Except I have never needed to use Amazon support, but newegg support is always very kind and generous.

You must not have bought much in the last year or two. Every single time i compare prices between newegg and amazon lately its either the same or cheaper on amazon. Newegg has just gone to shit in price competition lately while Amazon has been aggressively price matching them.

In your situation your shipping being free at newegg is not a plus considering you get the same from amazon.

And on the shipping note one thing thats driven me nuts about newegg for years is that they still cant seem to figure out how to ship an OEM HDD. WTF is going on there that they still pull the bubble wrap crap with them? Ship the damn thing with the inserts that hold the drive dead center in the box that all the OEMs and Amazon uses already...

I have bought quite a bit this past year and newegg has always been cheaper except for cables and amazon is usually cheaper in that department. I will agree that newegg's hard drive shipping does suck.

And the free shipping is a plus. Amazon's prime is a joke now, of the last 6 items I bought that were prime eligible, only one made it in two days. I don't know if amazon hates me but they like to create a shipping label and then wait 2 days to actually give it to ups. Then they have the stupid add on items crap, small items and text books is the main reason I bought prime and it is a whole lot less desirable to me now to use. I don't want to order $25 of stuff to get my item shipped to me in two days. Newegg has always been same day for me if I order before 4pm and always arrives in 2 days from cali.

I dont order books but i have never had any sort of issues like that. Both sites have always been on the ball with 2 day shipping for me. Of course its nothing like the old fedex only days from neweggs past where 3 day shipping meant 2 day 90% of the time. Now you almost have to have prime/shoprunner.

I've been shopping less and less with Newegg, but I still use their site to do all my research. Once I find the product I want, I use the model # to price check Amazon, etc.

That's interesting because I had exactly this same problem with an ASUS mobo, but Newegg refused to accept that I was not at fault for the bent pins which was a crock of shit.

i used newzon to go over all my newegg resent purchases and found that overall it would have cost me $35 more on a $1200 order if i had gone with Amazon! glad i used newzon , yes on a very few things Amazon was a bit cheaper, but i prefer to get everything from one place.

anyways, I just use newegg because their website is easy to navigate and I live in a neighboring state next to california, so everything gets delivered pretty fast.For the shipping updates looking like ass, I also do get that with some of my orders on both amazon and newegg, I don't really care about it as long as it gets delivered..... safely.
 
Good, glad to see others are getting the message that Newegg is not a place to do business with and if you do it is at your own risk.

Last year bought new Asus motherboard for Intel i7 PC, it would not recognize the memory. They said send it back, so I did. In a week I got it back stating that I bent CPU pins, a common excuse for them. Come to find out they are doing that to a lot of buyers, same BS. I stopped buying from them right then, I think it was early 2012.

Out of $300 bucks...

I stick to amazon or CL or frys and frys price matches, easier to just drive there and pick it up!
Only use newegg for reviews/specs.
 
I buy mostly from Newegg and Tigerdirect.I would buy from Amazon,if they took paypal.I'm currently not using my credit card ,while paying off a relatively small balance.GTE credit union changed my interest on balance to 12.9,from 8%,for no reason, except they had allowed too many risky members to hold credit cards.When I transfer the balance to a different credit union I will try Amazon.I have spent almost two thousand dollars on components the past ten months.

Not only did it send more $$ Kyle's way, it saved me some cash, too. Amazon's prices were lower (plus Prime shipping) on most things on a new build. Only thing that wasn't was RAM and the power supply (had to pay for UPS Ground shipping). Saved a good $75 or so with the NewZon.

Personally, I love this thing. Even if it's just for the price comparisons, it's a keeper. Definitely like supporting [H], which is the first reason I went for it. Didn't expect it to be more valuable to me as a consumer.
 
I would do all of my business on amazon except I don't have to pay sales tax for newegg. So if newegg is the same price and I don't need it asap (have prime 2 day shipping) then newegg wins. Personally I have never had a major issue with newegg and the few minor ones were taken care of in a satisfactory manor.

You do realize this isn't "that much money" for a lot of people, right? It certainly isn't for Newegg, especially if you consider that the profit they are making off your purchase is much, much less than $750... It is also a stupid thing to brag about, because people are either going to not care or get pissed and make fun of you.

I was saving a 10% v.me code to use on Newegg. They ended it early. I griped. They told me to buy what I wanted and they would give me 10%. Got my RT-AC66U router for only $161...killer deal.

Loooooooove Newegg. Buying loads from 'em for over 10 years. Never had a problem! :)

Cool, I got my RT-AC66R for $173 without having to deal with any customer service BS emails or over the phone & I didn't have to wait for shipping.
Enjoying my 50mb down and 11mb up right now!!
 
related note, just today I noticed the [N]ewZon was working in my browser varient. It made Kyle's links show up ON NEWEGG'S PAGES!!!

There was also the time I accidentally assigned a BIOS password to an SSD from the egg. Called 'em up, told 'em. They sent me a new one.
