First world problem: Having ZxR and pair of new DT 990 Editions on my desk, and still 7 hours of work, before I can go home and test that new puppies :)

I ordered mine today, should get them Monday, makes me want to buy a new headset though, I guess my HD 595's will have to do.

keep us updated, try all three categories, games, music and movies and let us know.

i still havent ordered mine yet, waiting for my tax return check:)

does the ZXR have LEDs? Just curious. Not interested in red glowies inside my case.

Actually found one at MicroCenter and just installed it.MAN what an amazing sound card!!! I need a good set of analog headphones now....

Got the ZxR along with a new ATH-AD900X. The headphone volume is a little too loud, but I'm not using the ACM. I set the level -12db. Overall I'm satisfied. :)

it´s so expensive the ZxR, right?
What do you think about the x fi titanium?

I'm like you...only different.

Got the ZxR along with a new ATH-A900X. I do use the ACM. I also have my older ATH A700s sitting here. Couple of days agao I had them both plugged into the ACM at the same time and A/B it. For the price range these two sets of cans are really nice.

While there isn't a need to fix what is not broken:

The ZxR has Swappable OP-AMPs. I'm enjoying this card right now but the customization is interesting to me. Any of you thinking of trying a different amp in the future just because you can?

So, after few days of testing it.... I'm amazed :) Haven't really used high end computer audio hardware, and now I know what I missed.

The sound is just... better. Can't really describe it, but even on my old CALs, everything sounds better than on Recon3D. Lets say for example Old Republic, when my character was walking on snow, Recon made some irritating scratching noise, that had nothing common with walking on real snow. Also engine sound of mounts and ship was too bassy and too noisy. Right now all those problems disappeared.

Positional audio sounds great, and you can hear from which side someone is running to you (without scout mode, as I hate it). Surround also works great - have it on like 75%. Other thing I really like is ability to keep connected my headphones and speakers :)

For music - well, guitar in Knopfler's Privateering (mp3 320 kpbs from Spotify) sounds more like guitar and not something muffled.

One great thing is microphone - it's really clear, and you can speak silently, and it will translate proper voice via TS 3. The ability to change the angle of voice beam cuts away all not needed sound from home.

And surprise, surprise... Creative made finally decent, easy to navigate drivers. They work under Win8 like charm.

And for movies, well my movie collection is BluRay, and don't have BluRay drive in computer, so couldn't really test them.

Also for headphones... despite all the praising on forums, I changed my DT 990 Pro for Fidelio L1. I like Fidelio's sound stage more to my tastes. Of course both of those smoke the CALs away :)

From all the praise I may actually be replacing my phoebus with this. But I will say while the phoebus had a lot of negativity around it, I had 0 issues while using the phase 2 rc drivers. Just hope this will be a step forward for my ears :)

In stock at Amazon for $243. I just placed my order. Should get here on Thursday.

Dude you have a top of the line soundcard that is going to be a useless sidegrade. The only reason it would make sense is if the Creative card has features you want that the ASUS does not have.

This ZxR looks pretty good, I think I may grab one to replace my dead xonar. Im deciding on either the Zx at mc for 119.99 or this ZxR.

To be honest, not entirely a sidegrade for gaming. Music and movies? Yes. Sidegrade.

For gaming sound though, the Z series is impressive.

Finally got mine, the box is massive! My cousin thought I bought another graphics card! I can't wait to get it installed this weekend into my new build.

Meh, got the phoebus and am happy with it for games over my stx, but Ive been waiting for Creative to get their shit together and it seems they have. Price is on the higher end, but can easily be made back. Maybe I want to test the hardware  and maybe gaming is something I do foremost, which is why my interest is peaked
