I'm trying to determine if my PSU will go all kaboom on me when I push the power switch... I don't really have enough for a better, similar PSU, but I may be able to scrounge from somewhere if need be. This is for a custom build I'm planning. I'd rather not "finish" the build with a puff of smoke ;)

System specs --

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (skt939 - 85.3w)
ASUS A8AE-LE motherboard (mATX, HP "AmberineM-GL6E")
1.5gb DDR1 RAM (would love more, but I ain't got it to put in!)
200gb SATA HDD (dunno model offhand, but I can check if it matters)
DVD Burner (probably a multi-drive)
USB WiFi Adapter

Power supply --
PC Power&Cooling "Turbo-Cool" Flex ATX / 1U 200W PSU. This nifty little bugger has a 20pin ATX connector, one single measly molex (you scrooge!) and two berg floppy connectors.

PSU ratings, straight from the label --

+05v - 20A
+12v - 9A
-05v - 0.5A
-12v - 0.5A
+3.3v - 12A
+5vSB - 2A
+5 & +3.3 = no more than 100W
Total = no more than 200W

I'm not worried about the 20vs24pin ATX problem (it will be fine as long as I don't need a graphics card, which I don't -- this is NOT a gaming machine!) but I *am* worried about that 12v 4pin connector on the motherboard. I'll have the two drives off that one molex already, and I'm not sure I like pulling from it for the mobo as well. The wire to that one single molex is 18AWG.

Should I be worried? or will it be fine? I do NOT want to put this together and wreck the PSU --or anything else-- on initial powerup!

Do you need the small form factor, or would a standard size ATX power supply suffice?

If so, the CX 430 V2 is more than enough, and is currently $16 after rebate on Newegg.

Needs to be (approximately) that size. I could go for a Weird Shit Dell supply with more horses if need be... but it needs to be either that or the flex atx supply I've got.

I'm guessing then that I'll pop the supply if I try to run all that from it?

Do you already have the power supply? If so, I think it should be fine, your system is very low power.

Yeah, I've got the supply. I just don't want to overload the 12v rail is all.

his video card is not listed or did I miss it? hard to say he's got enough power without knowing what the video card is

Custom build with parts I have and have been able to gather with my limited income.

Yes, it's behind the times. But it will be the third-best system in my house (I think) -- behind my laptop with a T7200 and 3gb RAM, and a desktop that I haven't got a use for really because it's got an AM2 3500+ (soon a 5000+) and an 8800 of some variety -- and I don't game! (Someone up and gave me the 8800 -- not kidding!)
